Azul Blue/Tulum -- distance and beach?

Hello helpful folks...
We are considering staying one week of our 2 weeks in Playa at the Azul Blue -- have to admit, mostly because it appears to be the southern-most resort available thru Sunquest, which we have to book thru for a variety of reasons.
We've been to Playa a few times, love it, but we were really taken with the town of Tulum when we spent a day there a couple of years ago ... so I'm wondering two things please:
1) how easy/hard it is to get from Azul Blue to Tulum i.e. would we have to hike out to the highway, hop a little bus into Tulum etc, or is it easy walking distance?
2) what's the beach like at Azul Blue? The various websites look suspiciously sparse of beach photos, so we're thinking it might be quite rocky or small?
Would be most appreciative of any info re the above!
Many thanx from a Canuck.

As a huge fan of the Karisma hotels and someone who had assumed at the beginning of the season that Azul Blue is where we would naturally go...

The beach pics are sparse because there really isn't a beach, so to speak. There is a manmade sandy area but the "beach" is reachable by stairs and not really fit for swimming. The landowner or the resort tried to dynamite a chunk of rocky shore away and it apparently didn't work out too well. there is a beach about 10 minutes walk to the south that looks beautiful, but there is no beach service or loungers there. Azul Blue is shipping guests by infrequent shuttle or taxi to either a hotel or beach club on Tulum beach. don't know for sure where, but I'm assuming it's Nuddy's beach club maybe? Drinks and food at the other hotel/beach club are not part of the all-inclusive plan.

The resort itself looks perfect...the beach issues will keep us away
What they're showing as the Azul Blue beach in the photos on various websites apparently just doesn't exist

Thanx much for the beach info, AbrahamSimpson -- we figured that was the case but were hoping against hope that maybe they had a nice little beach they just weren't bragging about -- bummer tho, cuz the resort does look fab.

Thanx again.
