Austin, Texas GIRL

Hello Everybody,
I have finally broke the seal and joined in on the fun. For days I have been reading all kinds of interesting messages about Playa and things to do and see... I figured it was time to stop looking and start interacting with all you awesome Peeps...
A little about me:
I have lived in Austin, Texas over the last seven years and love it here, but I think it is time for a change and Playa seems like a really great place to be. It will be several months before I move and a couple of visits before it is final, but I am in for the adventure that I have needed for a long time.
I was first introduced to Playa on December 29th 2006 and was there to bring in the New Year couldn't have been in a better place. I went Scuba Diving for the first time and fall in love with the SEA... (Thanks to Playa Country Boy & Fantasea Dive for teaching me my new passion!!!) Also went Bay Fishing and received one of the best massages I have had in my life. It was a very active vacation for me and I realized there is something more about Playa than all those thing I just mention. I haven't put my finger on it just yet, but when I do I will let you know. Hope you are all having a great day in paradise, because I envy you!!!

Welcome Amanda!

Hello and welcome, i'm sure you'll find lots of fun things to do and visits cause there is so much to discover in the Riviera Maya. Take time to go and see the many pyramids such a Koba, Chichen itza, Tulum ruins and many others.
If you ever head towards Merida go and see the great pyramids of UXmal, the're some of the best pyramid i've seen in the Yucatan. Also make sure you go and visit Merida and the Bird Sanctuary of Celestun on the gulf cost. That alone is worth the trip

Thanks for the info Skywatcher (love the name) that sounds like a lot of cool stuff to go see when I get there. Next question is how do you get the status of Sand Flea, into it or Life = Playa???

Hi again,
"Skywatcher" is actually the brand name of my telescope..
I have lots of pictures if you like to see more places such as Xel-HA, Akumal, Yal-Ku Lagoon to name a few, i really enjoyed visiting Merida, great city! Unfortunately I didn't get to post my photos of my trips(4) here yet.
About the status! I'm not sure about it, it just appeared for me and it changed at some point.. when i added a pic under my nick.

Welcome from a fellow SCUBA lover. I just wish I could get down there more often.
I'm still trying to put my finger on it to.

I love this already!!!

Thrush Jockey,
Glad to know that I am not the only one living in the states and trying to put my finger on the wonderful things of Palya. Thanks for the reply...

Playa Country Boy,
Thanks for introducing me to this site and I am sure I will have plenty of questions for the Peeps to answer. I might just have to say this is one of the coolest websites I have ever been on!!!

Thanks for all your response!!!

Family History

Jacko,
By the way it looks you figured out that Bunton is my last name and it comes with a large history. My great, great, great Grandfather:

JOHN WHEELER BUNTON signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. This man is even more important than LBJ, as he was one of the founders of the Republic of Texas, and lies interred in the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. He was the older brother of Robert Holmes Bunton, LBJ's great-grandfather.

This probably answers you question in little more depth than you wanted, but I have always admire the History of my Family...
