Just curious if these folks fall into the "too old" category?

Congressman John Dingell, 82
Senator Daniel Akaka, 84
Senator Robert Byrd, 91
Senator Daniel Inouye, 84
Senator Edward Kennedy, 76

To name a few...
Certainly they do not wield the same power as the President. However, as a collective body, they arguably have a larger impact on how this country is run.

I have no issue with a 71 year old running for President.

Yes, they do fall into that category.

Yes, you can vote for any of them that you wish to, if you live in their state/district.

Thank you for letting us know that you have no issue with a 71 year old running for President. Neither do I. Let them run for whatever they want to.

My answer would be the same as my answer for McCain as President..."Perhaps so, and it should at least be a serious consideration"...

Hell, I am not even sure I am comfortable with those folks driving on the roads, leave alone dealing with the pressures and energy required from today's presidency...

Oh yeah, that is right...they won't have to drive as the President! Now there is a positive!

Biden huh? I wonder if the Barak camp has short term memory loss. I'm sure everyone has see the you tube video of Biden ripping Barak and praising McCain. Just seems odd to me. YouTube - Joe Biden On Barack Obama

One things for certain, it's about to get really interesting for both parties. Sit back and enjoy.

But Biden owns a corvette!!!
If you can't depend on him to buy a decent car....!

BTW, I met his son Joe Biden III, Delaware's Attorney general, at a local caar show when he was running for office. He looked at my car and mentioned his dad owns a corvette. I told him he probably would have gotten more votes if he owned a Cobra For some reason he then walked away!

Biden is also a working class Senator (His dad had money at one time, but lost it before Joe was very old) , and is, perhaps, the only Senator who is not a millionaire according to news reports this morning.

His son, Delaware's Attorney General (I think that is the one, but I think there is another son), is heading to Iraq for a tour of duty.

I think he helps quite a bit - like in the 3-7% of popular vote range

What do you guys think?
I don't think I fit into the category of "you guys" as you intended, but I'll give it a whirl nonetheless. The only person Obama could have selected that could have possibly provided a boost to his vote total was Hillary; Biden will be a nonentity in this race as it relates to vote totals. In general, VP candidates make a marginal, at best, difference in vote totals. One of every three people in the USA, according to a Pew Poll in 2007, didn't know that Cheney was our current VP, this after years in the office and in the midst of a war in which he played a prominent role; why would they care about Biden, or McCain's choice? Tellingly, it was Independant voters who scored the worst on this question, and you would assume it is this bloc of voters to be targeted by the campaigns with news of the VP candidate selection.

We on this board are much out of the mainstream due to our high level of interest in items political (some claim I am further out still than the rest), so we necessarily see things in a manner much different than the body politic at large. Hillary, due to her "star power", was the one choice he could have made to make a real difference in vote totals, and I think virtually everyone agrees with that assessment; what does it tell us about him that he would forgo her as the choice?

Yes, Beau and Hunter are his sons. Beau is the AG and is a Capt in the DE Natl Guard.
