[quote=diogeron;1186267] People like THEIR congressmen, but don't like Congress as a whole.

I will probably vote for my Congress woman again, not because I like her; but coming from an overwhelmingly Democratic district no serious Republican is going to oppose her. I'm sure there will be some nut job on the ballot, but unless he/she shows up on my doorstep and makes a convincing case Go Gwen Moore

WOW!!! The very LAST thing we would want in the White House is someone with close ties to the Saudi family!!!

shades of joe mccarthy

I just read it. This is classic guilt by association technique perfected by Joe McCarthy and his ilk. There is absolutely no claim nor evidence that he was "financed" from the Saudi family or that he did anything wrong. As for associating with Saudis, anyone who was on a college campus in that time frame can tell you that campuses were full of rich Saudis, often driving BMWs, which they bought when they arrived and sold when they left. After 9-11, a lot of them went back as did a lot of other Middle Eastern students and the visas got tougher to maintain. In the late 80s and early 90s, however, Saudis were everywhere so it doesn't surprise me at all that he knew a Saudi with connections. There was one in grad school with me at IU who fit this profile although it was years before Obama was there.

Lots of smoke. No fire.

Our incumbent moderate Dem Darlene Hooley is retiring. I think the Dem is going to win. In the primary it came out that Mike Erickson, Repub, gave a young woman money - sorry - loaned a young woman a few hundred dollars and drove her to an abortion - oops, sorry again, to a medical clinic. Well, he won the Republican primary.

Now it has come out that he made a cigar and rum tourist trip - there I go again, a charitable donation trip - to Cuba a few years ago. Took 20 boxes of stuff, he said. Only problem is that everyone else on the trip said it was a tourist thing disguised as a humanitarian trip, including the organizer. But Mike said he asked every Cuban he met how they liked living under communist rule and what they wanted to do. He also provided the name and address of the medical clinic he personally delivered the supplies to. Only problem was that it didn't exist.

I think he is going to get to keep running his business without the distractions of representing a congressional district.

I have seen photos of the Bush men holding hands with Saudis and even kissing their cheeks. Can you believe that. Maybe it was just foreplay for what they are doing to us in the oil markets

productivity?

Right under your name, it says you have posted 27,000 times to this site? So much for brevity, "my friend", as John McCain would say
