Moveon.org recently did an electronic poll of its members after each candidate participated in an electronic, virtual town hall meeting regarding each candidates views on the war..interesting to note how poorly Senator Clinton did in this venue...here are the non-scientific results..keep in mind...these people voting are people generally of my political persuasion....

Sen. Barack Obama 28% www.BarackObama.com
Sen. John Edwards 25% www.JohnEdwards.com
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 17% www.Kucinich.us
Gov. Bill Richardson 12% www.RichardsonForPresident.com
Sen. Hillary Clinton 11% www.HillaryClinton.com
Sen. Joe Biden 6% www.JoeBiden.com
Sen. Chris Dodd 1% www.ChrisDodd.com

Interestingly, the folks who actually physically attended a gathering to "watch" and "hear" the virtual town hall meeting together voted quite differently...here are their totals:

Sen. John Edwards
25%
Gov. Bill Richardson
21%
Sen. Barack Obama 19%
Rep. Dennis Kucinich
15%
Sen. Joe Biden
10%
Sen. Hillary Clinton
7%
Sen. Chris Dodd
4%

Not really, IMHO. She has been the one candidate that, to me, seems to have waffled the most. I'll say it again, as I said earlier on this thread, that I think Edwards has the most credibility on the issue.

I'll also say that healthcare is the #2 issue, as it directly and concretely illustrates the whole "economy" issue, because everyone (rich or poor, urban or suburban, employed, under-employed or unemployed, white, black, brown, red, yellow or green) is affected by it.

Looks like Hillary's inability to make up her mind about Iraq is costing her with the loony left. I say loony left because any group of people where 15% would vote Kucinich for President has to have at least a few screws loose.

As compared to the 11% of the Reichwing Rethuglicans that say they would vote for Newt Gingrich?

Funny how Mario Cuomo and John Kerry don't have a problem with Newt. You would think if he were such a Nazi (as you are intimating), they would be the first to speak out. Newt, however, is a well respected thinker and hardly as right wing as some would make him out.

You must certainly be correct.... he believes in global warming AND our part in helping to create it AND the need for us to try to mitigate its negative effects.

Oh I don't know...John Edwards did pretty well with this lead in....

Senator Edwards: Last year you helped elect a new Congress, and thanks to your relentless grassroots pressure you helped shift the national debate about ending the war in Iraq from a question of if, to a question of how soon. Thank you. As you probably know I voted for this war. I was wrong and I take responsibility for that. Every day this war drags on is worse for Iraq, worse for our troops, worse for our country. We don't need more debate. We don't need symbolic resolution, we don't need abstract goals. What we need are binding requirements, and we can't wait until this President takes off in 2009. Here's what I think ought to happen...

What he pretty much stated was what a lot of us have stated. The cure could be worse than the disease, if not handled correctly. He said that global warming was a fact (no argument here) and that man plays a part (again, not much argument). He also stated that any remedies would better from from the free market rather than the government. In your haste to make him part of your team, you left out that rather important detail.

Anything one sets out to do is likely to fail if one does not do it correctly you idealist you.

And who's to say I don't believe in free market remedies? We haven't even gotten to the point of debating that...although I do think that Renewable Energy Credits are pretty "free market" oriented solutions....but you don't like those either.

The key is to start doing something wisely..but that is difficult to accomplish with many folks out there insisting there is no need to do anything because the problem is not really occuring.

Again, who is saying that that temperature hasn't gone up and pollution is bad? Who isn't for less crap in the atmosphere? Who isn't for saving money on their electricity bill? Who are these people who don't see pollution as a problem?

We need to move this over to the other thread!

But it is good to see that you are now ready to discuss solutions rather than focusing solely on arguing that you do not believe there is a problem we should be addressing...but lets take it over to the other thread, okay?

Fewer than 2/3 of Repubs are happy with the current field of Repub candidates for the presidency.

Close to 3/4's of Dems are happy with their field.

Time Magazine linked off of some other website - probably CNN

Before we take it over there, lets be clear. I have never said that pollution is not a problem. My concerns have always been with the ulterior motives and suggested remedies associated with the argument. You just haven't been listening. Maybe on this thread, it will become clear.

Hillary is doomed (just to get back on topic). The far left doesn't trust her, anymore. The moderates never have, and the right is scared to death of her. Doomed, I say.

I absolutely love the way you worded that.

65% of Repubs are happy.
72% of Dems are happy.

Not much of a difference. Reading your description wouldn't lead to that conclusion, would it?
