Elizabeth Edwards on her husband. "We can't make him black and we can't make him a woman." But, you sure can make him look perty.

But isn't it perversely nice to know that even with good looks, one can strike out?

Maybe he went to GOP social issue training camp, because he flipped on gay rights too. I agree, he now fits the mold of your party. Giuliani's the only one drawing outside the lines and his own kids won't vote for him...

Nothing wrong with changing your mind. Imo, it is disingenuous to do it in an attempt to fit some pre-fab confines of your political party. If appeasing your base is more important than sticking to your beliefs, to me that says you care more about getting elected than the issues you once stood for. Not what I look for in a leader.

Then how can you possibly be a Democrat? Appeasing your base rather than sticking to your beliefs is one of the pillars your party was founded on!

Laugh away. Your top two guys are an unelectable social liberal and an ultra-conservative one-time Democrat. Good luck with that.

I am completely fine with that..and that isnt any sillier than Jacko's bravado about his party's chances.

Well, let's both set bravado aside for a moment. This started out as a discussion of issues and flip flopping. If you have a defense of Romney, I'd actually like to hear it. One that doesn't involve pointing it back to the Dems, as we are, in fact, discussing a Republican nominee for a change.
