OTOH, if Bush keeps up his stuff and if Cheney is allowed to keep talking like he did in the Wolf Blitzer interview, my pet monkey Ralph could be the next president, as long as he is a Democrat.
She's not too conservative for you, right?

I do not have a favorite yet - though John Edwards I like - but he is probably to liberal for most.
I'll wait till after the convention, other than voting. I usually don't like to spend my little bit of contribution money during the primary.

So you really ARE of the same opinion as me?....ANY Democrat (or Ralph) who wins the nomination, wins the presidency!

It is a long time till the election. While that may seem true today, it could change several times between now and election day.

Hillary too conservative????? YIKES!!!! That's news to me. But I must admit I tend to be pretty far right wing on most things. This will be a very interesting election season this time around. You can already see many in the Republican party putting some distance between themselves and the Pres. Which from a strategic point of view is likely a good thing given the current ratings. However the thing that frustrates me the most is the practice of moving to the center during election season in order to be palitable to the most voters as possible. I encourage everyone to spend more time on researching the record of candidates rather than watch the useless debates. The debates to me only prove whether the person can articulate their thinly veiled empty promises that they know they really won't keep. Look at the voting record.
How did they vote on this matter and that matter...not who did they screw, what did their spouse do back in the day, did they inhale or not etc..... you get the point. That was one quality I liked about Ross Perot (no I didn't vote for him) He said what he believed and he stuck to it from what I can remember.

yep, he laid it out there...... ...I voted for him.......and on the plus side, he was freakin hilarious.......he would have been frustrated when he figured out he couldn't just fire 90% of Congress for not doing their job though........but damn, it woulda been sweet to see all those heads rolling if he could

Hillary's handlers have molded the more conservative appearance. It's all an illusion. Liberal Dems know the real Hillary and will vote for her as will the moderate and full blown conservatives of the party. Conservative 'Phants will not vote for a centrist or slightly liberal candidate. Anyone heard from Kinky lately!??
It's early, but right now I agree with Jacko that the Dems would have to lose this election; barring Osama coming out of the mountains and winning the Nobel Peace prize.

My point here is we are at a crossroads, and we don't have the very best people running for president. Maybe we should make congress vote in another amendment to where we "The People" can vote in a president,(ie. Clinton-not Hillary). I just think we have leaders out there that don't want to put up with media bias BS
I was stunned when he said he wasn't running for Pres in 2008. I, too, thought he was a very attractive candidate for all the reasons you listed; plus he has both legislative and executive experience. Not bad on the eyes, either.
I wonder if he is just staying out of the early scrum, and may jump in later?

You are SO right. I have seen him on the stump, and he is, without a doubt, the WORST retail politician I have ever seen!
If he is statesmanlike in status now, that is all a media creation.

So you may have a plausible point Jacko, we really need the Inconvenient author at this stage.
