Well you got that right -- her campaign does indeed seem to be operating out of some place akin to Wonderland, at the moment!
![]() I know! Let's ignore the writing on the wall about how we shouldn't have summarily dismissed all these non-huge states and ceded them to our opponent and so forth and just forget about even putting in an appearance in WI before the next primary date, thererby helping him add yet another state to his streak! ![]() |

![]() But actually, pity the party, I think, if that comes to pass. ![]() And then you can start to ponder the general election ramifications! But I also tend to think it will not come to pass. You and Jacko have been ever so slowly luring me to that view... Steve |

Imagine being Howard Dean or whoever else and having the job of doing PR damage control with both party members and the press, and trying to maintain some semblance of unity in the party and get it ready for the general election at the same time, after the superdelegates or something like a reversal on MI & FL ended up overriding whatever the pledged delegate outcome was and swinging the nomination the other way.
That would have to rocket right to the top of any "worst job" list you could imagine. Steve |

Don't you suspect at a certain level, whovever deals the final blow to the Clintons -- delivers that coup de grace, "Emperor has no clothes" moment -- will go down in DNC legend? I do. I think a lot of Dempols cannot wait to be rid of the CLintons' higher aspirations. (Although they will be gracious and lovely to Senator Clinton, who will serve with distinction for years to come) If Dean helps Clinton pull out some kind of tawdry-seeming victory ... all hell will break loose. I will go to Denver myself and go Chicago on the lot of them. ![]() |

I've been following the whole process from here..... given that I would surely be a Dem if I lived in the States all I can say is- THANK GOODNESS I don't live in the States right now. As I really wouldn't know which to pick, to be honest.
First of all both are only nuances apart in their programs........ and programs, schmograms- in the end programs are one thing, following through and/ or changing them are other issues once the elections are over. So the political stance wouldn't help me choose. Then there is the first female president vs. first black president issue. I think it is time for either. So no help here, too. So for me it would come down to personal likes..... sympathy. And while I wish I could say I'd vote for the fellow female I am not really fond of Hillary- for many reasons. Yes, she may have more experience in politics- but not only of the positive kind. I also just can't get a positive feel for her and can't even say why. Obama- well, by now there is too much of a hype around him for me to feel comfortable liking him.......as, after all, he IS the less experienced of the two and seems a bit TOO optimistic for me. So in the end- 1:1 on program, 1:1 on groundbreaking gender/race, -1:-1 on personal liking. Thank God I don't have to choose!!! ![]() |

![]() I was referring to the obvious scenario in which some such "tawdry" maneuvering would benefit Clinton, reversing the pledged delegate decision, since of course she's the one with all the DNC connections and the corresponding superdelegate lead but fewer pledged delegates and who is arguing for the decision on MI & FL to be reversed and so forth. Hard to imagine the reverse, with all that in place like that, but either way, the pledged delegate winner should not be supplanted by the overriding of that win through unelected connection honchos or back-room maneuvering and the like. But well- I'll do what I can to get most of it done and the rest will have to be done later. DID actually spend six hours in the states archives today- so do not tell me I should work on it NOW. ![]() |
