I dunno. FOX campaign coverage has had some really interesting moments and interviews. Hannity and Colmes was one of the only cable news shows willing to give Kucinich a cable platform when everyone had already counted him out as a fringe loony.

I can't bear their creepy morning show, and O'Reilly is a total gas bag, but overall their election coverage has been decent.

Well that would be more or less the litmus test in use this year, as well, I guess. I mean as opposed to considering the larger context of what you say and your actions and so forth.

Thank you. That would be Eastern?

Well but have you considered the latter as a possible ulterior motive on their part, inasmuch as it would fit with and help perpetuate their view of those on the left, in general?

I tend to think of motives when I'm watching coverage on any news channel. It was a good interview; Kucinich stood up to Hannity, refused to trash fellow Dems, and allowed actor Viggo Morgensten to get in a good one as well. Hannity admitted a begrudging respect for Kucinich for always staying true to his platform, and Kucinich admitted a begrudging repect to FOX news for being the only channel not to shut him out early in the race.

I just think it's funny that some of us obsessed with politics almost seem afraid to turn the channel and look around. Like we are afraid of indoctrination, or as if hearing right wing pundits make us too angry to even consider their views? I find it extremely interesting. I was completely bummed when MSNBC cancelled the Tucker Carlson show. I loved it.

Now, it hurts me that I can't help out some local businesses (like I did with La Pesca, for example), but those are the breaks.

Welshly exists only to post an occasional thought when I read (yes, I still like to read) something that I find so ridiculous, the urge to respond overwhelms me. In this case, it was your patronizing comment regarding why people might not vote for Obama. The other day, it was SeeTurtle's comment on those of faith being "intellectually lazy." Some other comments have almost brought Welshly out, but there are a few he won't even get out of bed, for. Hope you can read fast.
So you storm away in a cloud of righteous indignation vowing never to return...

Well, my opinion only, but as someone who has vociferously advocated for the use of profanity as an effective means of communication, I must tell you, what you're doing? Seems pretty chickenshit to me. But that's just my opinion of course.

Personally, I think the board is a better place with you than without you, but its obviously your decision.

It seems like a pretty twisted rationalization for your periodically returning to a place you'd left in a huff. And, of course, that's all it is is a rationalization. I mean, if you don't want to be a local offering people advice, then... Well... Don't! I still don't understand how using a multiple user registration makes a difference, but if it helps you save face and make it possible for you to return to a place you've vowed to abandon forever, that's okay. Like I said, I think the board is better with you than without you (even if you adopt me as your new "arch-nemesis.")

Welcome back, Mark!

I guess then, all candidates are elitists, guilty by association.
I didn't really see myself as an elitist, but of course, now after reading about 4 different definitions of what an elitist is, yes, I guess I am. I am not a social elitist, because I am a teacher and a health professional. But I am an elitist, because of my professions and my educational level. I do not take offense to this fact, nor do I think you were being pejorative in making the observation. However, I am not an elitist egalitarian. I don't believe that I promote elitism; because I do take responsibility for the things I say and do...here, there, and everywhere....the positional and professional penalties are very high if I do not take those responsibilities or I practice elitism. I use my skills and knowledge to help others succeed and meet their goals.

Someday, when you meet me face-to-face, and we share a beverage or two, you can decide this issue for yourself

BACK OFF Jacko, I find it VERY flattering to be his arch-nemesis! Mark is a smart guy with good taste, and if he picks me, he MUST have a good reason!

So back off, b*tch. Don't make me cut you!
