I'm voting for her as soon as I get my mail-in Oregon ballot.

I hope she is the nominee, but I will support whoever the nominee is.

So far the overwhelming majority of the bashing here has been amazingly one-sided against Clinton.

I'd be delighted if all the Clinton bashers here would take on McCain.

AP Poll: Clinton leads McCain, doing better than Obama
Presidential.Race.AP.Poll

Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., speaks...
By LIZ SIDOTI, AP

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton now leads John McCain by 9 points in a head-to-head presidential matchup, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll that bolsters her argument that she is more electable than Democratic rival Barack Obama.

Obama and Republican McCain are running about even.

The survey released Monday gives the New York senator and former first lady a fresh talking point as she works to raise much-needed campaign cash and persuade pivotal undecided superdelegates to side with her in the drawn-out Democratic primary fight.

Helped by independents, young people and seniors, Clinton gained ground this month in a hypothetical match with Sen. McCain, the GOP nominee-in-waiting. She now leads McCain, 50 percent to 41 percent, while Obama remains virtually tied with McCain, 46 percent to 44 percent.

Both Democrats were roughly even with McCain in the previous poll about three weeks ago.

Well I don't know if I'd call him a basher, seems like common sense in this quote:
Quote:
Obama hit back at McCain for criticizing him for opposing a gas-tax holiday the Arizona senator has proposed. "He had the gall yesterday to tell me that obviously because I didn’t agree with his plan I must not be sympathetic to poor people,” Obama said. “That’s what he said. This is at the same time that he is proposing hundreds of billion of dollars of more tax breaks for corporate interests, to the wealthiest Americans. And he doesn’t explain how it is that we are going to replace the Highway Trust Fund. That’s where your gasoline tax goes to rebuild roads and bridges and put people to back to work right here in North Carolina. So but, you see, here’s the thing: That’s typical of how Washington works.”

misspoke

Actually it reminds me of that comment from some blog, after Chris Wallace upbraided his cohorts, to the effect that there was an outbreak of the truth virus at Fox.

Some more interesting data points from the poll

same source as the previous post on this poll

Overall, people said they trusted Clinton and Obama about the same to handle Iraq and the economy; McCain got similar ratings on Iraq but trailed both Democrats on the economy. And while roughly the same percentage of people said they trusted both Democrats to understand their problems, fewer trusted McCain.

When pitted against McCain, Clinton now wins among independents, 50 percent to 34 percent, when just a few weeks ago she ran about even with him with this crucial group of voters. Clinton also now does better among independents than Obama does in a matchup with McCain.

Clinton has a newfound edge among seniors, too, 51 percent to 39 percent; McCain had previously had the advantage. And, Clinton has improved her margin over McCain among people under age 30; two-thirds of them now side with her. McCain leads Obama among seniors, while Obama leads McCain among those under 30 but by a smaller margin than Clinton does.

She also now leads among Catholics, always an important swing voting group in a general election, and improved her standing in the South as well as in cities and among families making under $25,000 a year. But she lost ground among families making between $50,000 and $100,000; they narrowly support McCain.

Interesting...it seems to me that I all I see are posts from you proclaiming the problems with Obama...and I seldom see ANY response from you regarding answering any of what I see as valid complaints about Hillary....

Pointing out problems with a candidate does not qualify as bashing.

Tearing into a candidate's character more easily qualifies as bashing.

Another point Jacko, it is not my life's avocation to answer each and every piece of criticism received about one candidate or the other, particularly those that are criticisms from people who seem to have lost all objectivity when it comes to discussion of Senator Clinton and who write things in ways that leads the reader to believe they are quite upset with her.

I have nothing with which to soothe them, but perhaps music would work

Sources: North Carolina governor to back Clinton
Posted: 05:30 PM ET

(CNN) – North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley will endorse Hillary Clinton's White House bid, two sources close to the campaign tell CNN.

The endorsement could give the New York senator a boost in the state with one week to go until its crucial May 6 primary. Recent polling suggests Barack Obama currently holds a double-digit lead over Clinton there, though no polls have been released since Clinton’s win in Pennsylvania last week.

Getting back to something perhaps more substantive (or something), this is kind of interesting:

Quote:
With Bingaman Endorsement, Obama Takes Senate Support Lead

Sen. Barack Obama officially pulled ahead today in the scramble for endorsements from colleagues in the U.S. Senate, thanks to Sen. Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico.

Never one of the Senate's most high-profile members, Bingaman now has a claim to political fame: He put Obama over the top after his long slog to catch Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who had a head start in winning the support of her peers. Obama now has 14 endorsements to Clinton's 13.

Obama will also get the vote of Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), who has not officially endorsed him but said he will support Obama at the convention in deference to his state's voters. Clinton has a similar pledge from Sen. Barbara Boxer of California...
If you want to make the campaign about things like character and experience and potential to move us forward, well what does it say about the two candidates when so many people who have been long-time friends of the Clintons or worked with one or both of them directly -- and in many cases, both, and to considerable benefit of their careers -- nevertheless continue to announce their support for Obama?

Meanwhile, I do think Dems may get lucky and McCain may turn out to be the surprise train wreck of 2008, in the end, and overturn whatever harm Dems have done to themselves, chiefly because of his evident anger management issues. I mean, if he has trouble containing his anger when just asked if his use of his wife's private jet at bargain prices didn't run against his finance ethics/reform focus, well, what's he going to do when something big comes up? And how's he going to look against Obama's generally cool, calm, collected demeanor even in the face of much, much worse stuff?

Like I dangerously loose cannon, I think. Sort of like Bill Clinton has looked at his worst moments during this campaign, perhaps?

I stand by the truth and clarity of my original post on the subject..we are not talking about "each and every piece of criticism" here...but then, you already know that.

I have pointed out problems with your candidate that does not qualify as bashing per your definition...you choose not to respond those problems I see....you choose to post entry after entry in opposition to Obama...and then wonder why we respond...go figure....

It seems to me you do not see your repeated negativity to Obama and only complain about the same treatment you feel about Hillary...you seem ....well,....er...... distracted in a partisan way... You seem to be what you most complain about...now where have I heard that before...hmmmmmm
