Hey, you guys know how to tell when Terry McAuliffe is lying?

...

...

...

..

...

Yep, you got it!

He was just proving the point on CNN, in fact, with Wolf Blitzer.

I"m not sure we should elect as president someone who can neither do basic math nor understand rules or recognize any need to follow them, personally. I mean, laws are rules, right? And the president is supposed up uphold the law, right? So where would that leave us?!?

Seriously, it's saddening to see how straight-faced some of those in positions of power can be while they're just out and out lying to the people. Blitzer came back to him twice and said, "But don't you think it's silly for example to count the votes from MI for Hillary Clinton but to assume that Barack Obama would have gotten zero votes there?" (Because of course he's repeating the Clinton camp's current favorite lie, just as Clinton herself is, that she's actually ahead in the popular vote.)

The closest he came to an answer to that question either time was that Obama took his name off the ballot there "for political reasons ... and to appease [note the word choice, there!] IA & NH." No mention of the DNC, of course, though McAuliffe knows that organization about as well as anyone and is fully aware of the history of those 2 states. Geez, even George Will, a generally conservative pundit, recognizes the truth better than Terry McAuliffe, former head of the DNC.

So yeah, when his lips are moving...

Wow. Yeah, this is who you want to agree with you when you're trying to secure the Democratic nomination: Karl Rove?!

Quote:
Hillary Clinton defended her reasoning for staying in the presidential race Monday afternoon by pointing out that Karl Rove's analysis shows her to be the strongest candidate against John McCain in November.

Check this out:

After holding a town hall meeting in Billings, Barack headed to the Crow Nation Reservation in Crow Agency, Montana, where he was formally adopted as a member of the Crow tribe. He was given a Crow name, AWE KOOTA BILXPAAK KOOXSHIIWIASH, which translates to "he who helps all people of the land."
They note the following among his comments to the people gathered there:

Quote:
We have a lot of work to do in this country for all people: black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American. We are all one people.

It starts with a sense of respect. It starts with the belief that all people are worthy of respect.
I guess "AWE KOOTA BILXPAAK KOOXSHIIWIASH 08" does have a certain ring to it.

Meanwhile, ol' Awe Koota Bilxpaak Kooxshiiwiash is up 5 more supers today. What might be missed in this now mundane, everyday sort of occurrence, but not by me or the good folks at DCW, is that

Quote:
Obama has now overtaken Clinton with DNC member endorsements.
This means there is exactly 1 category left in which Clinton leads Obama:

Quote:
Distinguished Party Leaders

Democrats include former presidents, vice-presidents and other party luminaries among their superdelegates under a category call Distinguished Party Leaders. This year there are twenty such figures who aren’t already superdelegates through offices they currently hold. They are:

Former DNC Chairman Joe Andrew of Maryland
Former President Jimmy Carter of Georgia
Former President Bill Clinton of New York
Former DNC Chairman Ken Curtis of Maine
Former Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota
Former DNC Chairwoman Debra DeLee of Massachusetts
Former Speaker Tom Foley of Washington
Former House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt of Missouri
Former Vice-President Al Gore of Tennessee
Former DNC Chairman Steven Grossman of Massachusetts
Former DNC Chairman Fred R. Harris of New Mexico
Former DNC Chairman Paul Kirk of Massachusetts
Former DNC Chairman Charles Manatt of California
Former DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe of Virginia
Former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell of Maine
Former Vice-President Walter Mondale of Minnesota
Former DNC General Chairmen Roy Romer of Colorado
Former DNC Chairman Robert Strauss of Texas
Former DNC Chairman David Wilhelm of Ohio
Former Speaker Jim Wright of Texas
The 2 bolded constitute half that lead.

Steve

(And just for the record, I know that's Hopi, and that Obama went to a Crow event, and that Hopi does not equal Crow.)

36% of Oregon primary ballots mailed to voters have been returned as of the end of the day yesterday.

The equivalent amount for the 2004 Primary was 28%

ZsaZsa's husband. What a nutcase. I'm no Obama fan but if I were Mrs. Obama I'd send him a photo flipping him off.

The CNN political ticker reports that Obama was also adopted in ceremonial fashion by a Crow family named Black Eagle and that he liked the thought of "Barack Black Eagle."

After that, they report that Warren Buffett, though being a long-time friend of the Clintons, has endorsed Obama.

Wasn't a problem for me. I own a small company. (Two, actually.)

I'm thinking about making Obama tee shirts the "official" uniform. What do ya think?

I guess I must carry an anti-Anglo/Irish prejudice I wasn't previously aware of, given my greater identification with my German-Swedish half. And if my son ends up living Mexico and identifying with its culture or people more, we'll see that he's being divisive and is biased against gringos...

Steve
If you believe that raceless society is racist you have a problem. The only way to get past the race problems in this country is to treat everyone the same. To say someone chose to live black or white is only said to divide this country. Maybe you have lived in Mexico to long. Most schools in the United States don't even ask for race anymore.
