I know you are younger than I am, but don't you remember this issue? THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE CONTROVERSY!!! Of COURSE you don't remember different lunches. Of COURSE Rita, our resident ex-cafeteria lady doesn't remember different lunches. There WERE no different lunches because the public outcry of outrage and disgust forced the Reagan administration to withdraw its directive!
So you guys are arguing over something that never happened....nifty! This gets me all tingly and fuzzy at the thought of what other non-events we could argue about!

Honestly Stew, this is like the time in college when I came back to my dorm and heard 2 of my dormmates arguing over who would win in a fight between Spiderman and The Swamp Thing...or was it Predator and Gozilla...maybe it was Rambo vs Freddy Krueger..ah hell i dont know.

It wasn't Reagan, it was Watt.
Remember him, Secretary of the Interior, environmentalist and horticulturalist.
Maybe it wasn't Watt, must have been some other cabinet member.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be condescending!

I was trying to be psudo-frustrated in a humorous way (hence the non-existent shoe bonking emoticon), but I guess it didn't translate very well...

As far as bold and italics, Mark mentioned that as well. I use that as a substitute for the normal verbal emphasis and / or body language emphasis that would take place in a "live" conversation. I think I've always done it on here, in all contexts in my posts (political, non-political, humorous, travel related, etc.)

I thought this was an interesting commentary from an interesting source on the current administration, today. (OK, roni, I know it's Iraq, but it's more on topic than school lunches, at least!)

House passes bill to bring troops home in '08

Across the Capitol, [Thursday's mixed report on the progress of the war] added new fuel to a similar debate in the Senate, where a leading Republican senator pronounced himself "disappointed" in the results.

"That government is simply not providing leadership worthy of the considerable sacrifice of our forces, and this has to change immediately," said Sen. John Warner, the influential former chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

I mention a couple of stupid things presidential administrations have done or attempted to do and it's good for 19 pages.

I'll think of a few more things when this settles down.

Surgeon General endorses jumping on ketchup packets to get out aggression.

I don't remember the 80' and 90's...I keep blocking it out. Probably cause I was a so-called cafeteria lady.

And therefore, in conclusion, let me remind you that after lunch we'll be going to the local blood bank for a sizeable donation on your behalf. Just to fulfill your responsibilities as the caring dem to my assy rep I'll have my driver drive you.

And just before you pass out from that experience, we're going to go hug some trees together

I can't wait.

I was gonna write something kinda cute about if Kelli ever wanted to go toe to toe with an older guy , but then her husband is kinda cute too - so I decided it would just be better to say nothing on a family forum like this.

You know, that sctx is a moderator now, hard telling how he would react
