We're headed back to RPR for the second time tomorrow!!! Last year we walked the beach everyday past Mamitas and Shangri-La (its the same beach) and really like the look of it, but for the price, I'd rather have the luxurious beds and top shelf liquor and same beach to enjoy. A comfy bed is really important to us and RPR has good ones! (Can't speak for Shangri-La.) I hear Shangri-La isn't cheap and doesn't include drinks.....which can really add up. We will still experience eating and drinking on 5th at night, but we spend the days at the beach usually and are able to be served or get our own ice cold frozen drinks or whatever we want.......all day long and lunch if we desire. I think if Shangri-la were a bit more reasonable, I would love to stay there and I wouldn't worry so much about what we were shelling out on liquor and food all week long. That being said, it's all personal preference. I priced both before we booked and thought for us, it made more sense to do RPR. Now, in March, we're doing something totally different. We're renting a condo.........so we'll see how that goes!
Enjoy whatever you decide!

Now - we did walk 5th and have a few meals and drinks - but we always ended the day at Pelicano's listening to the waves with a fabulous drink and food!!
Amen to that!!!

I was looking at some of the condos advertised on this site. Let us know how that works. Some of them look lovely.
