Different items to bring to an all-inclusive
My wife and I have a packing list of things to bring for our trip to Iberostar Quetzal on March 5. Some people might find some of this items useful to them too. I thought this would be a good opportunity to post these ideas for others and see what kind of handy/unusual things other people bring.
1. A night light, the rooms can be dark during middle of the night restroom trips. 2. 20oz. Thermal mugs for drinks, drinks are larger and stay colder longer than those little cups. 3. Glow sticks/necklaces for the kids to play with on the beach at night. 4. A leatherman pockt knife/tool, this goes in the checked baggage. 5. A couple of small flash lights for beach walking and critter spotting at night. 6 Can't bring them this year because space is limited, but a few gross of Mardi Gras beads. Last year, the adults in the swim-up bar loved them and we had met everyone by the end of the afternoon. |

Something I have found helpful to bring...A eyeglass repair kit, usually comes with extra hinge screws and small screw driver...You might want to bring a few paper clips, they can be used in an emergency, when you lose a hinge screw..Also a roll of scotch tape...I put tape on all our toiletry bottles lids...

Definately zip lock bags are a must, I put all the toiletries in them...
Something else I thought of ( I have sunglass problems ) I have a small spray bottle of glass cleaner to get the suntan lotion off of my glasses.... I also pack about 30 or so sheets of paper towels..They come in handy for a lot of uses.... |

Gotta love the all inclusive!! One thing I was glad I brought when in Cuba...a roll of Toilet paper. I like to hike around alot and just shove it in my pack, also, some bathrooms there charged for it before you went into the place...hmmm. Good commerce? Ziplocs a must, also if you aren't crazy about the ketchup or whatever, those little packages that you collect with takeout come in handy. I also bring travel wipes {baby wipes} a must if you are bringing the kiddies! Definetely a large go cup for drinks, and if in Cuba and you like potato chips or munchies, bring your own, not a huge variety there, {Hogiun area}Some nice people from Saskatchewan offered a couple of very hung over chicks some Pringles while on an excursion......could have eaten the whole thing!!!!! Enjoy!

The *inkpen* is muy importanta! We didn't have one - I didn't take a purse. We had to bum one from someone on the plane. I also brought an insulated coffee mug for those mornings on the beach. Those small cups just didn't do it for me. I also like to take some kind of aloe to put on after being in the sun.
Have fun! |

stuff to pack etc.....
I had to laugh at the toilet paper thing.........two years ago my friend and I went to the french riviera ooh great trip !...anyway we stopped at a service station and to my horror there was a man at a turnstile handing out ONE sheet of toilet paper per person ! and to add insult to injury ...the mens toilet was in full view of the womens cubicles I couldn't believe my eyes ! they were all one I couldn't wait to get out of there!.......
....strange......having siad that I must admit I take everything but the kitchen sink when I travel much to my husbands objections! lol you never know what you will need...![]() |

As strange as this sounds....meat tenderizer. I read it on a list, and took a chance and brought it on our recent trip. Day two and my wife brushes something off her arm while swimming. Turns out it was a jellyfish tentacle. Big stinging welts developed in seconds. Back to the room she went, and presto! the stinging went away after she put the tenderizer on! Never thought it was possible, and we never saw anything resembling jelyfish again, but it was well worth the $5 we paid for the big bottle (couldn't find the small bottle).

If you want to sleep late and don't want to play towels games, bring a couple of beach umbrellas, the kind that clamp onto the chair. You can unscrew the base from the rest of it to make it smaller in your suitcase.

Here in Missouri, we get a little bored with life during winter time, coincidently, we have the nations second largest Mardi Gras when the weather cooperates. I have found that Mardi Gras style beads seem to put most people in a party mood. Here in Missouri, Mardi Gras style beads are huge. Blue for the St. Louis Blues hockey, red for the World Series Champion Cardinals, purple, gold, and green for Mardi Gras, green for St. Patricks day, and various colors for other fun events. We stood at the top of the stairs to the swim up bar at Iberostar Tucan and threw out two gross of bead on seperate occasions. For the rest of the week, I saw people at the pool and beach wearing the beads. Just fun I guess.
