Baby cot quality at Iberostar Tucan?
Hi all, I wonder if any of you can help.
We'll be visiting the Iberostar Tucan in March with friends and we both have babies (they'll be 6 and 10 months when we visit). I understand the hotel will provide us with cots but as we're paranoid new parents, we wondered whether the cots are of a suitable standard or whether we should bring our own travel cots (would prefer not to otherwise some diving gear will be left in UK). If any of you have experience of the cots provided by Iberostar and can comment on the quality - e.g. cleanliness, mattress quality etc we'd be very grateful. I did a quick search and could only find messages re cots that were used by 6 and 8 year olds from the US so either the UK and US definition of cots is slightly different, a bit like Jumpers, or the cots provided will be more like put up beds and therefore not suitable for our requirements. Thanks in advance Squeaker |

Since you're speaking of such young babies, I have to assume when you say "cot" that you actually mean "crib". Guess maybe in the UK that's what you call them but here a cot is actually like a twin size bed and a crib is what would be used for a baby.
Anyway, I have not seen the cribs at the Tucan myself but....I have a wedding group at the Tucan right now and one party needed two cribs in their room. They will be home on the 30th of Jan. and I will send them an e mail to ask how the cribs were. If you check back here in several days, hopefully I'll have an answer for you.

Thanks Shammy that would be great.
I knew there must be different terminology in the US - crib is a more old fashioned word in the UK and when it's used now it's generally a very very small bed (usually that rocks) that baby grows out of after a few months. |

I have never used a crib/cot at the Tucan. My sister used one when we were there last time, her little one was 10 mos. old The cribs/cots that the Tucan provide are regulation cribs with wheels. They provided linens for the cribs. My sister is very particular and was satisfied with the cribs. I hope this will help. If you have any other questions I can ask my sister.

squeaker....cots.....
I am sure you will be ok with the cots they provide I think I caught a glimpse of one when we were there last year....and I think it was a wooden one with rails like we have here in uk.....the beds are lovely and clean as are the rooms..I think they change the sheets every day! looks like it anyway..so I am sure the cots will be fine don't worry.....we are coming back later this year!
can't wait...my daughter has been three times now and loves it! that's how we ended up here...so hope you have a great time I am sure you will!!

I take it you're referring to the pictures of the light show on the Ottawa Paliament Building. I agree it is quite a spectacular show. |

Ah, I stopped getting email notifications so didn't realise there had been any more responses. Phil, the plan is for our friends who don't dive to babysit our son while we get wet, we will return the favour while they snorkel. P.S. I agree with Smudger re the piccies Smudge, thanks for that - I kind of figured we'd be okay, glad to hear you and your family enjoyed it so much that you're heading back. 13 days to go and counting
