beach erosion?

I'm heading to the Reef Playacar Resort in Playacar at the beginning of March and I was wondering if they still have a beach at the property? I've seen alot of pictures on "tripadvisor" showing really demolished looking beachfronts at nice resorts. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We will be staying at the Reef Playacar Feb 08. Already know that the beach is gone, but can go north or south and find OK beaches. We stayed at a resort on the north end of PDC last year, and will probably hang out on the beaches up there.

Wrong picture. This is not the Reef hotel in the playacar hotel zone. But the Reef doesn't have a beach either.

That's the Playacar Palace. Nice beach in front of your hotel Steve, did you import all that sand from Cancun? Couldn't be Playacar sand as the winds were going the wrong way.

which playacar resorts still have beach?

I'm going to PDC in March and haven't booked a hotel yet. I was wondering if any recent visitors to the area would have any feedback on which resorts still have beaches left in front of them. I wanted to book the Reef Playacar but was told the beach is gone in front of that property. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

I've heard the farther south, the better it is. That being said, I hope the Tucan/Quetzal beach is nice in May. I've heard it's still fine (right now) who knows what will happen by May!

John...the beachs change on a daily basis a weekly basis and a monthly Basis...If you book a hotel right now based on the beach conditions it will most likely be different when you get there...It is called mother nature and no one can do a darn thing about it...Some weeks the beach is huge and other weeks it is small or rocky...just depends..Its like asking what the weather is going to be like...If you want a really safe bet Go North to Gran Coco Bay AI....The Beach does not change as much up there...

Try to hit the North end as the beaches are IMO the best . Try the Luna Blue Hotel they are only a 5 min.walk to the beach and right around the corner from 5th.Ave.
