New Computer Question!

Good Morning!
This year I will have to upgrade my computer for our small business at home. I know all the big talk about the new Vista...however, I need to know (being I have to buy another one, mine is about 5 years old, it's time) if the new computers come with something that will convert your old movies (I think 8mm) to DVD or is there something you can buy now that is cheaper than not "adding it on to your computer"? I am not real good with the computer lingo.. can ya tell?? So maybe I should just stick with something standard... not sure what to buy...(definetly a Dell, that is all I get) I use Quickbooks for the business and lots of pictures are stored (I know I need to store them somewhere else.... Not sure how too...another topic, another day....Oh yeah, and I need to find some $$ for this too!! But I am going to Mexico.... sooo many questions.. I know....
