Thumbs up

I forgot about another place on 26th st, It´s a little coffee/bistro type of place. We stayed at Luna blue last year and while walking to mamitas down that street in the middle right side...there it was...I asked for an Iced latte and it was great too. Well I will get my coffee wherever the cravin´hits me! since there´s a lot of coffee places down there I will try to buy in everyone of them! but at least one at starbucks....see ya in May!!

We still think Java Joe's rules. My husband provides me with an extra hot latte from JJ's whenever we're in town (yes, he is well-trained). And they remember his order from year-to-year!

Starbuck$$$. Opened something like 729 stores in 3 months or the average of 8 per day. Only one Java Joes that I know of, and Cafe Sasta, and Cafe Corazon! Guess you know where I won't drink my coffee in Playa or anywhere else for that matter.

Love Java Joe's. It's a fun place to hangout in the morning.

You had better read this month's issue of Consumer Reports Magazine. For coffee, McDonald's coffee rated in blind taste tests, better than Dunkin Donuts', Burger King's, and last but not least, Starbuck's coffee

I'm usually a Starbuck's junkie, but a couple of years in Venezuela opened my eyes to the rest of the world ...so where exactly is Cafe Corazón?

The day i went there was after a peep meet on January 11th, yeah the 12th (still a little burnt from it). And of course the idiot (me) decided to try in my spanglish to order a redeye, which for you nonprocurers of the starbucks coffee is, drip coffee with a shot of espresso. Of course the nice barista said, "yeah... how bout ordering in english." So feeling like a total tool, i did as requested and brought my quarry back to Posada Freud for my wife to enjoy. The coffee did taste good though!

So Playa has both a Starbucks and a wal mart. This is not a good thing! It takes away from Playa what makes it Playa. Whats next ... a fast food burger row and maybe a Taco Bell? I undersatnd progress and growth but this is just wrong on sooo many levels. When Playa del Carmen becomes like every other american town then it is time to look further down the coast for the new Playa.
