Starbucks
While in Playa last week, I am on my way to the pick-up point for the Fat Cat, it's 7:00a.m. and freaking Starbucks was closed!!! What the hell type of coffee business is that?
Two lost souls are sitting in front obviously going through withdrawals. Around the corner, Java Joes is hopping!!! Grabbed a bagel and a large hot coffee...Life is good!![]() |

Cafe Press on 2nd below 5th
Check out Cafe Press - French Press coffee (a large carafe is $3US - enough for about 3 large cups) and WiFi onsite.

I'm a real coffee addict and want to know where this place is located that serves up such a beautiful and great cup of coffee? I'd much rather visit the local places when on vacation than the same 'ole thing.....when I get away, I want to get away from it ALL - especially corporate America. We can consume all of that when we get home.
I admit that on my first trip to Mexico I was disappointed in the coffee at first but then I became used to it, until I arrived in Playa del Carmen and went to Java Joe's. They had just moved to the new location. HOT! was another good place for coffee in the morning. Last edited by NWCreoleLady : 03-27-2007 at 09:50 PM. |

Oh but there's also:
Java Joe's; Cafe Press; Cafe Sasta; Cafe Corazon; Hot Baking Co. and the usual breakfast places in the morning too with the wonderful OJ and coffee.... (Not that I'm opposed to drinking coffee ANYTIME of the day in Playa - EVEN on the hottest of days) |

This is true Babaloo.....Although I personally don't like seeing how Americanized we've become globally(while on vacation that is), I have to admit that I did appreciate finding Costco in Cancun and Guadalajara for those familiar deals that I've become accustomed to at home. In fact in 123 days, we'll be doing a 'Costco run' in Cancun to stock up before our road trip around the Roo. |
