What Not to Wear

I was going through my closet the other day after watching TLC's "What Not to Wear" and found that I might possibly be nominated to appear on this show. I must admit I have my favorite pair of sweat pants with numerous holes in them and in the summer I wear clothing that would be compared to Harper Valley PTA attire. What articles of clothing do you have in your closet that could land you on that show?

A purple business suit.

I wear business suits to work. Most of the them are black, navy, grey, brown, beige/tan !!!

I dont know what I was thinking when I bought the purple suit.

Do you feel happy when you wear your purple suit? It is a regal color you know.

One of the girls I worked with told me "I cant believe you are wearing a purple suit" !!! and laughed at me !!! I guess she was not used to seeing me in purple. But it is like if some one tells you...gee that color makes you look fat...then you never wear that color again in your life !!!

I wear it maybe once or twice around Mardi Gras now - with some of my "good $$ Mardi Gras" beads !
(we do that around here)

Purple is really not a good color for me !!!

New Orleans is on my short list to go visit. My parents went two years ago and LOVED it.

Many years ago our sales assistant came to work in a beautiful purple suit. She was about 70 and was the sparkler in our office. When I saw her I said "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple. With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me." She glared at me told me she didn't have a damn red hat and to keep my fresh mouth shut.

It took 2 weeks of explaining (and a dozen roses) that I was quoting a line from a book to convince her I was wasn't an age-ist male creep.

My work-mates just about died laughing and refused to back me up. Helen and I eventually made up and we were fast friends 'til she died last year at age 89.

You took the words right out of my mouth!! I was gonna tell Tappy to just go buy a red hat to go with her purple suit. Then she can become a member of the Red Hat Club!!

I think Stacy & Clinton would be horified at some of the things I go out in! For example..popping into the grocery store in my pyjama bottoms..hey they're cute..I got mickey mouse...and bart simpson...and really cool plaid!! they have the sign on their show.."no mini skirts after 35"....well.......In Playa and in the summer...watch out cuz that's all I wear. Oh..then there's the short shorts...but until my butt hangs out the bottom...I'm gonna keep wearing them!!!

I had a rabbit fur coat years ago. Every time I wore it, I was constantly picking rabbit hair off my lips. It would fly around and get stuck on my lipstick! And don't even ask about how pissed my boyfriend would get when I'd wear it in his fabric-upholstered car!! I think I finally gave it away to Goodwill a couple of years ago.

I've never seen the show... maybe I should watch it... I'm sure sweats are way up there on the list... big sloppy sweatshirts and droopy pants sans underwear and thick white sweat socks...

I was referring to the frump and lump level of comfort... the lack of underwear is NOT a sexy thing, really....

it's kind of like that cartoon of the girl and boy standing outside when it's snowing... dressed up in multiple sweaters, parkas, scarves, hats and gloves, and the girl says to the boy: "Can you tell? I'm not wearing a bra."

Probably everything! Especailly my pink snow blowing boots and full face knit hood! I love this show but sometimes i question their fashion sense. Some of the things that encourage people to waer are just too weird or out of place for anywhere but New York.

For example, they really were offended when a woman wanted to buy a long down coat. I'd like to see them come here right now (it's 15 below and moving down the temp scale) and tell one of us not to wear our down coats and Columbia boots. I don't care how "out of fashion" i am but iam not going to wear a short suede coat and high heel leather boots in February in Wisconsin!

Also, I don't care what i look like when getting groceries. No trouser pants, high heels, etc.! Sweats are good enough.

Most of the time they do a great job though. they do some amazing transformaitons that are really needed.
