Bars at Viva Aztecsa
Looks like I've been drinking already as I look at the subject line! Ooops!! (it won't allow me to edit it, so my apologies)
How crowded can I expect the bars at the Viva Wyndham Azteca to be? I have heard there is more than 1 bar--which is a better option for getting a drink in the middle of the day? Is there a swing bar--I enjoy the bars where I can sip and swing while looking over the water.

definately a walk up and get your drink type of bar. if you are staying at viva and want it exotic, wander down to the viva maya and sit at the in-pool bar. but load up on the sunscreen before, your back will thank you later. ALSO, look at their bottles of booze before ordering, i know when we stayed there 2 years ago if you ask for a rum and coke, you will get something that could barely be considered alcohol, let alone rum. however, if you ask for solara and coke you will not be dissatisfied. same goes for tequila, although i think their top shelf was jose cuervo which isnt very good either, but its better than your other option.
if i remember correctly, the lobby bar is open later than the beach bar so you will have to move your party from the beach up to the lobby if you want to party hardy. we always went to the maya for a late night snack.. they serve food till 3 (or they used to at least). hope this helps! |
