Excited but worried

We just booked reservations at a new resort in Playa. Since then been reading some reviews, now not so sure about the resort. Any one stayed at Grand Gala Esmeralda? Would like some feedback on this resort.

I haven't stayed there, But I spoke to people who stayed there recently and they all said it was a great place, They loved it.

I haven't stayed there but we did stay at the Gala in Huatulco last year and it was one of the nicest AI experiences we have had.

Unfortunately it's not IN Playa either. It looks really nice from the outside though.

As you may be aware, it is a new resort I'm guessing about 10 miles north of PdC. The people who run it used to own the Gala Playacar (now Sandos). We stayed there (Playacar) several times when they ran it and were extremely satisfied. My understanding is the the GGE is up and running but I'm not sure if all the facilities are in place. I would also be concerned about the condition of the beach. Having said that, I wouldn't be too concerned overall based on our prior experiences at the other property they ran. Hopefully there are some peeps who were there recently who can comment.

BTW, you might want to edit your post header (if that's possible) to include a reference to the resort so more people with info will open it. Otherwise you could start a new one mentioning the GGE.
