Food Terminology List ???
I know this may be the wrong forum for this request, but we are going to be in Playa in two days, and I need some information. I could not post in the "Changarros y mas" forum. I Read a previous post that a visitor ordered some tacos he thought tasted like fish and asked the owner what kind of fish it was. He found out the tacos were filled with chopped up stomach of lamb filled with it's own organs (heart, liver, lungs, kidney, etc) called "panza". Hoping not to be so adventurous in my diet, I was hoping to find a brief list of food terminology that I could carry with me, and use when ordering off of spanish only menus.
Could someone direct me to such a list? ![]() |

Thanks for the two previous posts, but they seem to be alittle tame. Non of the terms listed mention food consisting of animal body parts. I quess what I am looking for is more of a list of terms that the authentic resturants use in there menus to describe their items. I would make a list to carry of stuff I would not want to sample this trip.

I have a suggestion. Get yourself one of these at a bookstore before you leave. http://www.amazon.com/Spanish-Lonely.../dp/0864427190 I bought one years ago and it really helps when you are at a restaurant. Another suggestion is to ask what the menu item is in english if you don't recognize the word or phrase. Most places you go to eat will speak some english. Good Luck & have a fun trip!
