Please help me smile again

Okay. I searched in feedback and found some good threads to help me figure out why I only have the smilies option below my posting page. I have tried go advance and still only have smilies below. My husband has cleaned out the cache and I really have no idea what changing message interface is or how to do it. If any of you have the time or want to take the challenge of working with a complete computer idot, your help would be GREATLY appreciated. (insert a lady humbly on her knees begging for your help smilie)

Click the big Post Reply button or the Quote button instead of using the quick reply box....it should bring up another page that allows you to see the smilies....

I've never actually used the Quick Reply box under the thread , but I think that may be what you're doing, to NOT have the smilies option....???

Just clicked on the big post reply box but no smilies other than the ones on the bottom. No other boxes with smilies either.

When you click on post reply, there is a spot underneath that says disable smileys. Could that be it?????

That's odd....I saw your post last night I believe about that, but there should be a box with about 5 rows of three smilies just to the right of the reply box....

Depending on your resolution and monitor....is there perhaps a bar at the bottom of your screen to scroll to the right? If so, perhaps they are there....

I'll try to post a creen capture of what mine looks like for you....

No I don't have any of that. Not even the icons on top of where I post.

I just checked your user settings. You have "Basic Editor - A simple text box" selected under "Miscellaneous Options". In order for your smilies to show you need to change this setting to "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls".

To do this:

1. Go to User CP
2. Click on Edit Options
3. Scroll to bottom of page
4. Under Miscellaneous Options, select Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls from the drop down menu
5. Click on Save Changes.

I can't but when my husband comes home, I'll see if he can do it for me.
I can briefly explain it thought in the meantime. When I click on post reply
I get a page with a title box on top. Underneath the title box I get a box to post my reply. Underneath that box I have a post icons box with two rows of 7 smilies which you may pick from as an icon for your message. Which usually ends up to the right of my title box.
