to us a 4 night-5 day trip is standard... it's all we can do and not feel guilty about...

We are going for 9 days this June (which is long for us). I could take two weeks off from work, but I would be so overwhelmed when I got back to work, I would never catch up !

But I am really looking forward to a long one this time. We also take lots of short trips during the year and right now we are also saving for Italy as well.

That's probably one of the reasons I don't get all depressed about coming home. And this year, we'll be leaving for 12 days after having Sophie living here for only 7 weeks. David reminded me the other night, "You know... we'll probably notice a difference in Sophie's size when we get home. She's gonna grow a lot while we're gone."

We like 9-10 days if we can get it. This year is a week and then a return for me with other daughter 2 weeks later! Haven't done this before but am looking forward to it!

Our airfare is high too, so we do one long one (10 days) which is perfect.

We typically do 10-day trips. A week just isn't enough. You lose at least part of a day to'ing-and-fro'ing, so a week's vacation leaves just 5 full days of R'n'R.
