OMIGOSH!!! I'm SO glad you gave that little guy his second chance! Only met you once, as you know, and though I liked you lots then, you just climbed way higher on the charts with that wheelchair and the willingness to love your doggy thru this. Peanut's got a face nobody could resist and it's so nice that he's still here to smile at us.
(Yeah, now I'm all weepy, too )

Very cool story. Very cool ending.
When I was a youngster, we had friends with a beautiful pure-bred dachshund called Stretch. She was a terrific pet, even-tempered, energetic, and friendly. She was a champion, so they bred her on a regular basis. Whenever she was pregnant, her belly used to drag on the ground. It was comical, but pitiful in a way to see her wagging her tail, glad to see you, running to you, then wimpering with the pain in her raw belly. Finally, her owner rigged up a padded roller skate type of arrangement to keep her belly off the floor. Stretch fgured that thing out in about a day. It was a riot to see her get up a head of steam, then lift all four legs and coast. I swore she smiled. Glad things turned out so well for your fur person. |
