Better late than never...2/2 - 2/6
Day 1
1:15 AM Yes you saw that correctly. Had to get up and shower as Alissa was meeting me at my house so we she could leave her car here. After a kiss to my boys I decide to wait outside. Alissa pulls up, we throw her bags in the car and we're on our way. Just a side note, when I travel I tend to be slightly obsessive compulsive, hence the 2AM drive to the airport for our 6:15 AM flight (it only takes and hour to get there )Stop at Dunks and I am ready to roll. I had made previous arrangement to park outside the airport at a The Thrifty Park and Shuttle thing. which was way cheaper than parking at Logan. Ride was very uneventfull till we get to the where we have to get off and, oh could it be that I had taken this smooth ride for granted, I thought we were free and clear from any crappy Boston detours. Well yes, freaking detour. Ended up somewhere going North, had to pull over to call the parking place for directions. They pointed us in the right directions and made it there fine. (See thats why I leave early, you never know whats gonna happen )4:00AM arrive at the ariport and NO ONE was there. The place was empty. I have never had a better experience at an airport in my life. Got checked in, smoked some butts before going through Security, walked around then proceeded to make our way to our gate Alissa at the gate. Flight to Memphis was uneventfull. Made a run for the smoking bar, sucked down a cervesa and a butt and ran back to the gate. Got to Cancun in to time, flew thew custums and immigration and out into the nice hot weather. Got a couple cervesa's outside while we waited for our van. I was so excited on the way to Fusion because Alissa had never been to Playa and I knew she would love it as much as I do. We arrived at Fusion at I don'y even know what time. Kim checked us in and showed us to our room (#1). It was nice, had everything that we needed, 2 beds a little fridge bathroom, blah blah blah. everyday the maids put such great towel art. (This will be the 1 and only picture of me in the report )We decided to get some drinks and a little snack and sit on the beach. Julio makes a great Mojito! and the guac was fantastic Libby the dog made an appearance and Alissa fell in love with her! Ahh this is what I have been waiting for, for a year! !My son and Nephew are killing each other downstairs so I'll have to excuse myself to save someone's life......There's more to come

Ok I'm back and they're good for now
(I think, though I do hear some karate chopping going on)There was a great bad playing at Fusion, we enjoyed them! After our guac and drinks we decided to walk around a bit before getting ready for dinner. We had to get a couple things at the mini super up the street and I had to get some antibiotics at the pharmacia as I knew i could be getting strept throught at any moment. it had been coming on for almost a week now and finally decided to make it's appearance. Unfortunatly I get it often so, went and picked up some drugs and I was good to go. Stumbled upon Karens and decided to grab a drink and listen to the music. To our surprise it was "2 for 1" time. **Damn Massachusetts for not having Happy Hour **Finished those up and went back to get ready for dinner. We went to Babe's this night. There was a little wait but that was ok. There was a little boy with his family sitting at a table next to the street and he kept us entertained .First let me say that by this point we had been up for about 18 hours (with only about 2 1/2 hours sleep the previous night) and we were exhausted. I ordered the crab spring rolls and they were out of this world!! I think Alissa had the chicken spring rolls, she said they were great I then had the Chicken with the peanut sauce (I forgot what it was called), It was good but really spicy (sorry the picture sucks I was still trying to become friends with my camera) Alissa had the sweedish meatballs I assume she liked them. I was a very early night for us as I was beginning to feel more and more like poo as the night went on. We decided to get back to the hotel. Alissa sat out and had some cervesas and I went to bed. |

Ok Ok. I have a few minutes
Day 2 Since I am used to being up real early every morning I can't sleep in. Alissa on the other hand has no children, works nights so I let her sleep in most ornigs while I went walking. Since we had gone to bed so early last night I think I was up about 6:30AM. Decided to get dressed and watch the world wake up around me. I was plannin on walking to La Cuevo for breaky but it was already reall humid so I decided to turn around and go to 100% Natural. This was really good. I had a papaya shake, fresh fruit, granola and yogurt My insides have never felt so clean ever! This was so yummy. After I ate i decided to walk around a little more. I had walked off my orginal breakfast so I decided to go find the carts. Now I have to tell you that I have been waiting to try this, and let me tell you I was not disappointed I don't even know how many I ate, I just kept ordering more I'll finish day 2 later on today. Notjing really to exciting just more food and a game of dice ![]() |

Hi Jillian!
Glad to see you've started your report. Unlike you, I didn't take ANY food pics, and yours are making me hungry!!! Can't wait to hear more about your trip. I don't think I'll write a report...too much of it can't be shared with y'all! (that's my new Texan word I've picked up from the naughty chicas!) ![]() |

Day 2 Cont.
So after my Breafast numero dos I went back to get my suit on and my beach crap for the day. To my surprise little miss sunshine was awake and getting ready as well. This was probably about 9ish. Headed down got our chairs and just vged for the whole day. It was really so nice to just sit there and not have to worry about anything (ie: laundry, cleaning, cooking etc etc)These last few months had been really busy at home and at work so I was looking forward to just not thinking and doing anything. They have some great fruit smoothies there so I had a couple of those in the morning. sat, sat, sat, lay, lay, lay, read, read, read. Time for lunch. we were pretty lazt so we just got lunch there on the deck. Alissa's Mine I don't remember what we got but we both loved it. back to the chairs, flip, lay, lay, lay, nap, nap, nap We decided to pack it up and go walk around a bit to do some shopping. We got back to the hotel took showers and went out for the best dinner of the whole trip: Carboncitas. This place was fantastic We ordered ordered some fried cheese thing (I don;t think it was the same thing that everyone has talked about, which is what I had wanted, but it was great anyway) I got some pork chop with bacon and cheese thing...YUMMMMY! Alissa got a steak and said it was one of the best she had ever had. Sorry no pic of that as my camera died, so no pics of the rest of the night either. There was supposed to be a small peep meet that night but I didn't see anyone there. We sat at the bar, ended up playing some dice game with 2 guys. I'm pretty sure they were just trying to get us drunk, we kept wining and they kept changing the rules. Well needless to say, they're the ones that stumbled out not us . The bartender (can't remember his name) that I had met last year was there. He is so damn cute and if I wasn't a happily married woman.... ![]() |
