Now that is interesting. Maybe with Kim gone, they will reconsider their answer.

Oh, not for a long while, we're betting, as the trick is to buy out in either direction somehow for street access, donchta know.

Heard that, too. Indeed that's what prompted an offer we received the other day from the same people, apparently going toward 8th street given that response when trying to go toward 6th.

We didn't take up the offer, either.

Which brings us back to the first point and why I don't know that you'll see any construction for quite a while.

Interesting update on this bit of news from last year: during my trip down to Playa this past week, I walked south along the beach one day and saw a "FOR SALE" sign on the property in question -- that is, the one Jack owned but which has been empty for some time now, between the Fusion and Pelicano -- with the name and contact information for the same agent I originally talked to on the matter, all that time ago, listed as well.

In other words, it would seem that the whole plan to build condos there has fallen through and the people who bought Jack out have given up on that idea and are now trying to sell the property themselves.

I cannot truthfully say that we are too very upset by this.

Don't get too excited. We have several people who have serious interest in buying this parcel. And so it goes....

Well but my question would be, do you have several people interested in buying it in order to put up condos without street access, or interested in buying it and buying another 1-3 properties in the block in order to put up condos with street access?

Seems whoever bought out Jack didn't want to do the former and couldn't swing the latter, which I guess would be true of many investors...
