Jack sells

Our neighbor Jack, the American who has owned and lived on the beachfront lot located between the Pelicano Inn and the Fusion Hotel for the past 20+ years, is reporting that he's finally sold to a group who plans to put in condos.

'Cause you know, there seems to be something of a trend to put up condos in Playa these days.

FWIW.

Would this be the house with he fence and gate? On top of the gate/walls there are broken bottles(sharp-side-up) in the mortar for an extra deterant
I'll bet he made a small fortune!

There is a house across the street that has this type of "anti-theft" system.

I haven't noticed if the broken bottles cemented into the wall along the top system was in place there or not, but then it wouldn't be very out of place around here, if it were. And I'm not sure they're still doing the rent a beach chair/umbrella thing, either. But yes it's a house, the only non-hotel propoerty on the beach in the block between 6th and 8th. He's still around, though -- I don't know when the project starts, and he apparently is going to have a choice condo out of the new unit, so he may be around indefinitely.

Saw Jack last week at the Z-Gas way out in the Ejido. He is very happy and seemed more mellow than I have seen him in a few years. (Could have something to do with the very large amount of money he made on the sale of his house...) He is living in Paa Mul with his sweet dog, Fila. I imagine SusieQRoo has seen him around. He has a few philanthropic plans in his future. Good for you, Jack!

Talk with the owners of Fusion a week ago and apparantly the same people made an offer to buy the Fusion. They turned it down. Significant offer I might add.
