Hello from Long Island, NY!
My wife and I, both 50, visited Mexico for the first time 2 years ago. We stayed down the coast at an AI, the Aventura Spa Palace, which was fine for what it was. My wife spent as much time as humanly possible in the water, specifically snorkeling, and I was with her the whole time apart from my attendance at a futbol match in PDC. I met a few of the local inhabitants at the match, and with my Spanish learned 40 years ago from a three-year stay in Puerto Rico, I was able to enjoy a few beers with three taxi drivers whilst seeing a bit of the town. That was our/my only exposure to PDC, but it seemed like a great place to come back to visit.
We are planning to visit PDC this year with the youngest of our 3 children, a fifteen year-old boy, and his best friend. I have done significant international travel, mostly for business, and I always prefer to stay off the beaten path; the AI above was an anomaly. We typically focus on food and water activities, so the beach area is of great interest to us. We are looking at some of the smaller hotels on/near the beach for an April stay. The Vista Caribe sounds intriguing, so we may go for the master suite. Any information about this particular place is welcome; there doesn't appear to be any trip report less than two years old on the site. Looking forward to be an active member of the site! |

Welcome!
...sounds like you get it! ![]() The Trip Planning tab above lists the Hotels that have partnered with Playa.Info because the owners/administrators of this forum have seen considerable quality and customer service from these properties. We have seen several threads recently on which hotels to base a stay and many replies as to favorites and why. Many of us have our favorites and also tend to stay at several places. If after some research you have specific questions on properties, ask away! - But once you have determined to inquire on rates and availability, please do so from the trip planning tab above. Select the hotels you would like to know availability, etc and you will receive a reply within a day or so. You also receive a free Playa Deal Card - Click Here when you reserve a minimum 4-consecutive night stay at any of the listed properties. It will help you to save considerable $$, and is a useful guide to some very good places to shop, eat and drink, and services to use. Some off the path and more local, some geared more to the touristy experience. It's actually how my wife and I learned the places of Playa spreading outward from 5th... Also remember most hotels give beach/palapa passes with your stay and are also only a few minutes walk to the beach even on the 5th and 10th avenue properties. Also, james and anna and staff have designed local tours that are without a doubt the best way to experience the Riviera Maya, they are intimate and not geared to large cattle-like experiences....give them a look HERE Hope this helps! |
