Senior citizen cruises?
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a senior citizen cruise line? My mum must be feeling better because she is actually thinking about going out and doing things. I suggested a cruise, and she jumped at the idea. But where to? She'd prefer people her age.

Holland America is really nice, but not as pricey Seabourne or Silverseas or the like... they've got great service and food as well! |

I agree the average Carnival is not a senior citizen cruise. But their crusie out of NY to Canada was very much a senior citizen cruise. Not many younger folks on board...very laid back. But the best bet is Holland America. |

Reminds me of our trip to Cozumel in 1997------ 5 or 6 cruise ships were in port one day as we were walking around San Miquel, timbit said to me " Guess we won't be taking any cruises for quite a while, we're too young.) She also says she doesn't want to go to Florida now that we are retired "because that is where all the old people stay." Honey, we're $49.99 plus shipping, handling and tax. We can go on a cruise and go to Florida now. |

Our first carnival was during Spring Break...it was FAR from a quiet laid back "older" persons cruise! We saw one kid after the cruies walking around with a bar bill that he had tucked into his waist band...it reached the floor! I asked him how much and he said $1100 in booze alone!
That was the only Carnival cruise we've taken that was that rowdy BTW...all the others, we could find a party if we wanted or we could relax quietly. |
