Occidental Royal Hideaway...

Will be taking first trip to PDC in early May. Staying at the Occidental Royal Hideaway. Anyone stayed there before? What can you tell me...any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

I have not been there but that's where I REALLY wanted to go. To expensive for me for two weeks. I have done A LOT of research and this resort consistently comes up as the best, the most romantic, the most cozy, the most elegant. I literally have not seen a bad review. Go to Ron's Hotel Reviews and there are more detailed trip reports. Have fun.

Make your dinner reservations early, before you arrive if possible.

Skip the Italian restaurant. It's good, but not great like the other restaurants.

Dont miss the chorizo at the breakfast bar in the restaurant by the beach. Exponential yumminess. Oh and those little mini croissants have bittersweet chocolate in them. (found that out my last day there. damn!)

Go to town for nightlife. Don't miss PDC at night. It's hoppin'.

Actually, the Italian restaurant was our favorite...But whatever your personal taste they're all great!!...It's really a very fine resort!...You've chosen wisely!!!!... :lol:

Well, since I'm of Italian descent and live in Chicago, I'm fairly hard to please. We have some of the best Italian you'll ever eat here. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

The Asian place is my personal fave! Dont miss it!
