Hi, I am Bob...found Playa 3 years ago..never been anywhere else since (ok 1 week in Puerto Plata DR in Jan) but I find myself drawn to the place. I keep making miniture Playas out of my mashed potatoes. Anyway..love the place. Going back for my 5th and 6th week since 2007 New Years on april 28th and feel so good about the place I am travelling solo. I am from Kingston Ontario Canada.. I stay at the Gran Porto Real because I just love screwing with the Royal's security staff so damn much. They are one pretentious bunch!

I believe I have to say that's the most unique reason I've ever encountered for anyone preferring to patronize a particular facility. We've all heard; great food, excellent service, superb environment, wonderful activities, exceptional value, marvellous beach, or a multitude of other comments, but never "I love to play head games with the rent-a-cops."

Maybe I was a little vague..I guess most people are more aware of the newer movies. I was watching Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind earlier in the day.

Actually I think I prefer the Gran Porto because its not so damn officious. It feels like home.

Welcome Bob, we too were spoiled by Playas charms, we were forced to stay at a five star AI in Manzanillo last year (family Wedding) and have been whinning ever since!!
