Mexican Rodent

Can anyone tell me the name of the animal that looks like a large rodent, or a cross between a rabbit and a rat with no tail? You see them running around the resort property, but nobody could tell us the name.

Thanks, Mike.
I liked your answer about the time share. However we didn't have any of those at the Barcelo. Just the rodents.

welcome... we have been going to this area since our kids were young. Hunt the agoutis (with a view to feeding them, not eating them) was a daily game. They are now 14 and 15 and less interested.
