Hola to all here from the COLD of Rochester, NY!
I am a frequent travel forum girl and am looking forward to learning much about Playa del Carmen over the next 6 weeks before we arrive for a 1-10 pm day here!
I am sure I will have lots of questions and now am looking forward to browsing the boards for hours so we can plan our day accordingly.
There will be 9 of us visiting together and 4 of the 9 of us just came back a couple weeks ago from 9 days in the DR

Thanks to both of you. I have been using that avatar for years on some other boards I frequent....LOVE THE WATER.
ok - maybe someone can help me out. We have been land lovers for our last 2 vacations and yesterday booked a quick 4 night getaway on a ship before we start work up again here in NY at the end of April (I am a highway construction worker).

We dock in Calica at 1pm until 10pm

I have contacted Edventure Tours and this is what I am interested in for around 6-11 of us.

Turtle Bay - I rescue turtles and would love to see/swim with some in the wild
Monkeys???
Beach Bar with reasonable and delish food & drink

Do any AI's offer a day/night pass?

From the reading I have just done of bars and restaurants it seems that 5th Ave area is the place to be - but after 9 days at an AI - I want to do a few other things and THEN DRINK

I think one of the couples traveling with us was interested in booking a beach break excursion with the ship for around $50 PP - but I never book with resorts or ships and prefer to find our own tours/guides etc.....

Would we be able to catch a cab from the port to the one bar I read about that is built into a cavern/cave?

Where is the bar La Buena Vida? I have read reviews and seen pics of it on other places and looks like a blast - but not sure if it is on the water?

Thanks Monte and everyone. I removed the email address ( I had copied my Signature from another forum where I give out alot of information to travelers on destinations I have been to) OOPS - I took off all my travel links as well.
Spent the past hour on the webcam forum (first 20 and last 20 pages) WOW...that was fun.
Will do some searches and see what I can find out as well as go to the General Board to ask some questions.

Love the site and I am HOOKED!! I will FOR SURE recommend it to all my cruise buddies over on CruiseCritic and TA and others I belong to...
