Hammock problems
James,
I have a question for you. This year when I visited PDC I bought a nylon hammock to replace the cotton one I bought last year (which I love...very comfy...it just turns out I'm not all that inspired to bring the cotton one in out of the bad weather). I bought one of the large ones. I did all the checks you talk about in your guide for hammock buying....size, thread counts, threads drawing together when you push down, etc. I feel very confident that I got a quality item. But when I lie crossways on it, I can't get all stretched out and comfy like with my cotton one. I can't stretch it out with my feet or, if I do, it pops out from under my head. Please help. I can go back to my cotton one but, unfortunately, it is already showing some thread breakage from being left out in the rain all last summer and the snow this winter (I believe I mentioned the laziness issue). Thanks. Katrina |

Sounds like it isn't large (wide) enough. Typically nothing but the very largest hammocks are worth considering.
I've not found a nylon hammock that can compare to a large, fine cotton one, although there are some stretchy nylons that work out OK. Try to angle it back from perpendicular to the threads to give yourself more area.
