Angel the WRT54G is the router up top for $159.99 then go to the PCI cards and click on more like this and you have two pages of options.....

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/subcla...gon=&langid=EN

The one I was talking about was not htere but there are several that will work really well with the WRT54G.....Just get a Linksys PCI card and that will talk to the router and you should be in great shape......

This is the one I would get to go with the router.......

hi Mikey!! The laptop came with an integrated card...I got the router but it was $69.99...maybe a lower model?? The router I got seems to work good, and the laptop seems to find the signals pretty well, it found 5 in my neighbourhood right from my couch.... lol
Should I still look into an external card??
this is the laptop...

But you arent getting the speed you want? Is it a B router? And not a G? You may try this

http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

Down load it and the open it and run it.....At the very bottom right you will see an optimal setting choice click it and hit apply changes then restart you computer......It made both my laptops much faster when using WIFI......

But before you do run this before you run the optimizer then again after to see if there is a difference.......

You should look at the PCI cards and get the best Liksys as far as with SPEED BOOSTER that you can find at Best Buy.....It should be faster with that then the Internal card or at least that has been my experience......3133 download and 463 is good......If you run that optimzer TCP it might jump up a little....Mine went from 4833 to 6800 to sometimes 9800 but that has to also do with how much traffic on the line.....

....The TCP Optimizer does something to the packets of bandwidght being sent and received I think and maybe organizes them in a way that is faster then the router itself.....Not for sure....But It made both laptops much faster.....At night when there is hardly anyone on After eleven on the weekdays it is quite here and it goes as high as 11,0000 and 12,000 But I am using a cable connection hooked into a modem, then have the router/WRT5G off the modem, suppose to be 10mb upload and 1.2 mb upload....And I do get that on my PC the WIFI is a little lower.....But the 3383 or whatever it was is really a good speed.......

They don't really market that aspect and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, even on their website.
