Can I be a peep?
Hi everyone,
I fell in love with Playa(saying it like a local), when we landed there a few years ago via cruise ship. Only got to spend a few hours there twice(two different cruises), but I am coming back in 12 days, for over a week this time. I haven't seen anyone else here with kiddos, but I have 2. I'm a single, semi-retired father... well not retired as a father... but you know... from work. Come to think of it that's not true, being a single father for the past ten years is a lot work. Anyway, I digress. I try to travel a lot with my kids. I think its good for them to get to experience other cultures, and Playa seems to be steeped in many other cultures, along with the wonderful "Mayomexican" one. (did I just make up a word?) I am so glad I found this "place" on the web. Sooo much good info on food,... and food, and other stuff as well. I've been running four miles three times a week to lose some weight, so I can afford to gain it back eating GOOD food. Love to hear any suggestions for things to do with teens(13 and 15), and for how I could enjoy myself at the same time... I know that's not gonna be a problem though. Ciao, Shawn Last edited by playafava; 03-13-2007 at 06:33 PM. |

Welcome to the forum.
Playa with two teens....Good for you. Kids grow up so fast. Tours and the beach would be your best bet. The Mayan ruins would be a great place to go. Tulum is close. The others are a bit of a ride. As an ex single father (now remarrried) I wish I would have taken my two to Playa/Riviera Maya area.

Hi Shawn,
Welcome. Teenage kids? That's cool, we brought our teenage son last year, he soaked it up like a sponge! He had a blast, of course if you come with that intention so that your kids can enjoy it....they (and yourself) will have a wonderful time. Check out the playa.info tours, we did and my son really enjoyed it. Good luck and have fun! |
