I hope that in the coming years your tyranny/terrorism statement proves out. But I don't believe it. I've been to far too many countries and seen too many dark things in the world to think this is the case. Agreed on the power hungry politicos, but I think you've missed the point. If you believe that the Democrats weren't listening in illegally, you're deluded. I helped build some of the technology. We do need caretakers - I'm not putting one party ahead of the other, but the need is there. There are plenty of dangerous people in the world. Many here among us. The illegal immigrant issue is a part of the security problem. Not from the immigrants themselves, the vast majority are here to feed their families. But if they can cross our borders, north and south, unhindered then others can too. And will. |

I don't trust any politician, no matter which party, and no matter if I voted for and support them. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely! I don't doubt that security should be taken seriously. I just prefer that there be checks and balances to prevent abuse of the system for personal or political gain. Technology, in and of itself, is neither good nor evil. Like they say, "Guns don't kill people, people do." |
