Climate Shock

Never mind the culture shock of returning home.

This time it's the climate shock that's getting me down!

Just three days ago I was snorkeling in Akumal Bay watching a manta ray flutter along the ocean's sandy bottom and gazing upon a huge sea turtle as it munched on sea grass. It was so hot and sunny that I had to cover my legs with my towel later that day, as the sun was starting to feel too hot. Add to that the delightful company of my honey, David, and also that of Popeye (Barry) and his adorable wife, Phyllis. Great weather, great snorkeling, great company, great food.

Fast forward to today...... First day back at work. Had to pack my boots due to the weather forecast, and the weather turned so bad (snowstorm) that they closed the office at 2:30. Drove home in a wind-driven snowstorm.

I think I'll go find a mirror to look at all my sun-blossomed freckles now.

"Lo siento" I understand. The other word I'll have to look up. And my Spanish/English dictionary is packed in my toiletry case stashed in the back of a high cupboard.

Poor baby!

When we got back to MN on Tuesday it was 62 in Minneapolis. It's been downhill since then but at least no snow!

Poor dear. I was thinking about you today, hoping you were still down in Mex, missing all this "fun".
