"You got the laptop? No, I thought you had it?!".....

Day one started out innocent enough, except for getting up at 3:15 a.m. to leave for the airport in Minneapolis! The cab ride from the hotel was uneventful, but just wait. We arrived at the terminal and unloaded luggage, including the laptop. We stood in line awhile, but got through security, etc. in decent time, with carryons and the laptop. While killing time, Pat has to use the bathroom, so I am now in charge of the stuff and the laptop. A few minutes pass, when Pat arrives still red in the face. She tells that she went into the restroom, all the way in....and realized there were urinals in there!

Yep, she was in the Men's restroom.

Needless to say, she didn't linger.

In the meantime, I'm still in charge of stuff and the laptop. We wait a few minutes, then finally board the plane. After finding our seats, we do the usual final check to see if we got everything check. Pat-"You got the laptop?" Craig- "No I thought you had it?!" No laptop to be found, uh oh.

Random thoughts start racing through my brain, no emails back home to check on things, no MSN Messenger to see Camryn on web cam, and OMG

NO FORUM!!!

Realizing that we will surely die without Playa.Info, I alert the flight attendant to our troubles. She, being very helpful, tells me a staff member will look for the laptop. What seems like days go by, still no laptop. The flight attendant tells me I can get off the plane and go look for the laptop, which I do. I rush to security, speak to a TSA Officer, no laptop, not good. I go into the Men's restroom, hoping to blame Pat for leaving it in there during her brief jaunt there, but no such luck. Desperate I search on. I keep hearing this tick tock of the plane's leaving without me clock in my head, fifteen minutes 'til takeoff! Ever see that episode of MASH where they had the clock on the screen the entire episode? I could relate. Finally, as I make my way back to the gate, THERE IT IS!!!! Our beautiful laptop in its case, sitting on a seat. Who the hell left it.....ooops....oh yeah, I did.

I scoop up laptop just as I hear, "Sun Country passenger Craig Faulstich report immediately..." Not good! I run to the gate saying "I'm here, I'm here." Alas I walk back onto the plane, trying not to make eye contact with the rest of the passengers, who of course are thinking, "Who is this idiot?!"

The flight leaves on time, no problem man!

Yikes!
So glad you found your laptop in the last second. I hate being left in charge of all the carry ons and so forth. We seem like we are constantly doing those checks on who has what.
