Spring Is Here!!!! Spring Is Here!!!!

I am so excited, March 20th was officially (spelling) the first day of spring up here. We've had a crappy winter with gobs of snow, lots of slushy days, been real depressing. SO, I decide after work, I'm going to run out to one of our logging cut blocks, tour around a bit and look for sure signs of spring.

CARE TO TAG ALONG?!?!?!?!?

I drive about 10 minutes north of town, I love the area, lots of nice small lakes, trails, beautiful scenery. Here we are in the cut block, look at all the spring flowers stretching for the sun!!!

Looking south-east, OOOOOOO, I think I see a little birdie!!

Ahhh, up ahead, there's a small lake behind the treeline where I like to kick back in my shorts, tank top, flip flops, have a beer and watch the wildlife come out of the forest to drink the cooooooool water. SOUNDS INVITING, DOESN'T IT?!?!?!?

Oh wait, I think I see the birdies again!!!!!

Wait, is that a herd of deere being blown by in the 60mph winds?!?!?

Ahhhh, the smell of the flowers in the spring, so fresh!!!

I think I see my first robins of the season, they must of been listening to the radio like I was this morning and hurried back to PARADISE!!!!

AHHHH, the heat of the sun, too bad I didn't have my shorts and flip-flops with me TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL, WARM, SPRING WEATHER I'M ENJOYING RIGHT NOW!!!!

I slept sooooo well last night knowing spring is here, I very much enjoyed the change from the never-ending fridgid snowy hell we've had to endure, it was such a pleasant change.

This morning, 4:30am, I was in complete shock, what is this white stuff falling from the sky?!?!? Dandruf? Tide detergent? Cocaine?!? It CAN'T be snow, it's spring!!!

What is this crap on my driveway?!?!?

It CAN'T be snow, it's spring!!! It's spring!!! IT'S SPRING!!!! IT'S SPRING!!!!!

IT'S SPRING!!!! IT'S SPRING!!!!

AAAARGHH!!!!!!!

I need a valium, or a drink, or both. I hate winter. Go the hell away winter, you suck.

Nice pictures! Thanks for the road trip.
How disappointing to wake up to the white stuff.
Im looking forward to Spring. The warm sun, the flowers. I can't wait for the first grass cut--the smell of fresh cut grass.

it was about 55 here, cloudy, but the little rain that fell left a nice, fresh, feel to the air (and it got rid of the black snow along the curbs)

I took the dog for a walk and could actually feel the difference in the humidity. this was NOT snow dampness but real RAIN making the air damp.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I'm so sorry that you had the 4 letter word in your driveway this morning.

Great report!!!

Okay, you are going to hate me.
Went for a 10K step walk in the hills around the house. The wildflowers are starting to bloom--California Poppys (orange), lupine (purple), blue-eyed grass (dark blue), wild hyacynth (purple), desert primroses (bright yellow), morning glories (white), etc...) in contrast to the burned soil (from the fire). Beauty out of destruction...it was amazing. Next time I'll bring the camera

spring is here............woohoo.
the first few photos is what it looked like here late wednesday evening. except it was sand. the sun was good mostly(got a lot of color) the sand was blowing across the highway looking like a dense thin fog. however the water was excellent. it was a good day of kiteboarding.
woo hooo its spring.

After a few flirtations with warmer weather, I truly believe we are into spring!
Not soon enough!

Where in BC IS that, Mike?

That looks more miserable than here in Saskatchewan...I didn't think that was possible this time of year. Or ANY time of year.

We still have 3 feet of snow in our yard, front and back, because the piles were so high ...but they are melting fast...and I can see grass at the edges now! Spring is a-comin'.

My mom lives 3 hours south and her tulips are up already about 4 inches. They live in the 'banana belt' of Sask.

I am SO glad I no longer live in the North! I'm a St. Petersburg FL native who just NEVER adjusted to all that stuff. Connecticut was either too freakin' frigid or sweltering and the BIG mosquitos, deer flies and other bitey things were incredible. Here in Tampa, it's either Spring or Hurricane season and we only have eensie-weensie mosquitos.
