I just got one of mine out 2 weeks ago. the actually procedure went smooth, and i didn't feel anything. it was the aftermath that sucked! I had a huge bruise on my cheek, and my right side of my face blew up like a baloon! Yeah, take the pain pills. I need to get the other one out next week.
There was a plus side though, i lost about 3 pounds cause i could hardly eat. Good luck!

I had mine out on my 17th birthday in the hospital. They were all wrapped around my jawbone and had to be chiseled out. My parents didn't realize they had forgotten my birthday until weeks later.
Nice. |

Just did this about 6 weeks ago (and I'm 45!). I'm a freaked out dentist hater of the worst kind so the biggest hurdle was getting me out the front door.
But after a little Valium and Versed - no problemo. Done deal, not a bruise, no pain afterwards, no big deal at all. Can't BELIEVE I waited so long to have it done. The only thing that bothered me, and is still kind of a small issue is when stuff gets lodged in the craters that are left after there are no more toofies there! They are slowly being covered by new bone and skin, but it's quite annoying. Good luck! |

I had mine out about 10 years ago, and I am also a dentist hater, the one I had didn't help much, gave the the old "you really shouldn't smoke""you will have dry sockets" "we could hit a nerve in your face
. Went very well actually, I did not have IV sedation, scared of needles, had valium then they did what-ever needed to be done, no stiches, no dry sockets and I was bad, I did smoke...but gave it a day . I too had/have the cater issues, even after 10 years. Oh and the pain pills they gave me I couldn't take, so I sucked it up and took Motrin for a week! You'll so fine.........no worries! |

Those damn craters, I think that's the worst part by far cause it takes so long for them to cover up, but they are SO much better than they were. I didn't have any stitches either BTW. I'm sure I annoyed my peep friends at Peep Fest cause I made sure to let them know when and WHAT I had stuck in my craters!
