We have the Fridegdaire model. Not sure on the size, however I can fit Cali King duvet cover and Queen duvet cover and ten pillow cases varying in size from standard to Queen to King. The washing time is a bit longer but the drying time is just about cut in half due to the fact that the washing comes out of the washer practically dry. This is also based on a gas dryer. You will save a ton in water and your clothes will last longer as well. Agitation takes a toll on your clothes. Not to mention you save in the amount of detergent and softener etc. that you will use. Just overall a great investment, enviromentally speaking of course.

[quote=Tommygurl]Yes they use alot less water which is another reason I want them.....I have been looking at the Maytag Neptunes.[/quote
I hear that the circut board on the Neptune is a b#@ch to replace. It's all digital where as the Fridedaire is knobs and dials. Just something to consider. |

I love my front loader. It is an older fridgidaire model - regular size. If I have to do it again I would buy the larger neptues or there is also a whirlpool model and a kenmore model that are HUGE. (I still have to take my king comforter and my dog beds to the laundromat)You need less water, less/more efficient products, and drying time is faster. I also think more stains get removed the first time as well. Spnd the $$ for the largest capacity you can - esp. with kids - you won't regret it!

We have front loaders! Both are LG brand. The Dryer is a DW2512 and the washer is a WM1812. They are the basic models in the LG line. They have booth ben fantastic in the 1.5 years we've had them. Not sure of the cubic feet, but they are pretty large. The dryer will take a load about twice the size of the washer. In general LG makes teriffic products. LG owns the british washer and dryer market, from what I understand. They also make great cell phones and flat panel TV's.
A couple things to be aware of. The washer takes twice as long as a regular washer. It also needs good strong water pressure or you are looking at 80 minutes or more per load. They also make a nice place to fold clothes since you don't have to worry about moving a big pile to get another load out. |

I have a Fischer and Paykel Ecosmart Washer. It is top loading, uses about 1/2 the soap and is big enough to put a queen-size comforter (we don't have a king). We use less water, less soap, and the clothes come out very clean. It was a lot less (in price than the front-loaders). I really wanted a front loading, but I am really, really happy with our purchase.

I bought the Sears Kenmore Elite HE3T back in Sept 2001(washer and dryer). I think they have come out with newer models. They where VERY expensive back then. I think prices have come down some. The washer uses very little water, which is good when we have water restrictions in the summer months if it's been a dry year. I have two cats and a dog(husky-alot of hair) So I launder the blankets and comforters all the time. I can do a whole weeks worth of towels in one load. I hope they last forever, don't really want to pay those prices again.
