I used to live there, myself. I love Merida, and if I could take my job here and do it there, I would. Welcome aboard.

Bienvenida!

Merida was beautiful 20 years ago when I last visited & I have to imagine that it just as nice now.

We like all new members but we double especially like new members who can tell where the best place for Poc Chuc in Merida is or who has a good recipe for it.

Poc Chuc

I'm sure I can get a good Poc Chuc recipe, and there are so many places here in Merida to find it.......one of the best is Los Almendros (the original location in Merida)...and that is from our friends who were born here! Let me know if you want the recipe.....YucaJan

I "Googled" up Poc Chuc to make sure I was spelling it right.

And an article said that it's easy to make. Yeah! I like easy! So send me a recipe if it's not too much trouble.

Greetings

You're the first person living in Merida I've seen on the forum.

What do you do there?

Here in Merida

Hi! We are lucky enough to not work...retired. We do have a website, though, which keeps us plugged in........www.mexicoanswers.com for people to learn how to move to Mexico.

Hi yucajan
We checked out Merida for about a month a couple of years ago looking for a retirement location- loved the old colonial buildings and all the arts- wonderful City but kinda hot. We ended up buying a lot at Pueblo Sacbe and will be retiring there this December. Building a palapa style house but want to put in the pasta tiles like in the old colonial homes downstairs. Do you know of stores in Merida that sell the Pasta tiles?- I've seen one online but they didn't have the patterns we liked.

Tiles in Merida

Hi...I'll check around, because I have heard of a store that sells them......give me a bit of time, as the people who know it are out of town for a few weeks......Do you have a particular pattern you are looking for?
