Kevin and Matt's mom offered to send Matt and Allison on a vacation for graduation. $4,000 limit. He called back and said that he really wanted to concentrate on finding a job and would rather have the money. Smart kid. I wish I had been that smart at 22. Heck, I wish I had been that smart at 42!!

Congratulations on matts graduation and congratulations to you and kevin for raising such a fine young man! You must be so proud! That is wonderful that he attended school on a scholarship. The next chapter in our lives is my daughter, Lindsay, attending a university in the Boston area on a full-ride scholarship for hockey. She leaves in August so you'll have to give me pointers on how to deal with him being gone...unless Matt's school wasn't far from home.
Again...congratulations and good luck with your future...Matt!!!

Matt was just 2 hours away and came home often, plus we didn't miss a football game, so I think it was easier since we saw him so frequently. Also I think dads take the seperation better then moms. I think the hardest part for the college athlete is the constant training, but still having to do the same studies that all the other kids do. Time management is very important. Especially the first year when they have this new freedom. Somehow they survive and before you know it, you'll be posting pictures
