Finally On Our Way!

Hello! I joined this forum last summer when I (very excitedly) booked my trip to Playa for Dec. 2006. But I stopped posting in Sept. when I found out my husband had thyroid cancer. We had to postpone the trip due to treatment. But things are looking up and we've actually rescheduled the trip and are flying down this Friday (3/30) for a few days. So I just wanted to say hello and that we're VERY excited to FINALLY be on our way to paradise!!!

Maybe we'll run into a few of you?

Welcome back and hope you have a great time! I good friend of mine was just diagnosed with thyriod cancer. I should tell him to plan a trip to Playa after he beats this thing.

Thrushjockey... definitely tell your friend to treat himself to a good vaca when he's beat it! And let him know that he will beat it -- it's not always the easiest process, but thyroid cancer is VERY treatable!!! It took two surgeries, a radiation treamtment and a few months of rehab and medication tweeking, but my husband is finally getting back to normal! We wish him the best in his treatment!!!

That's good news, but if he's "normal", he won't likely be comfortable around here. We've had a few normal folks....but they don't generally last.

I meant he's back to his normal "weird" self! Just the way I like him! tee-hee!

There's certainly not much normal about us!
