In the plains here in SD you'll find dens of Rattlers like that.
(Probably loading up on Prairie Dogs) ![]() When or if they're considered a threat, they're rounded up and relocated. Heck, in one town they do a rattlesnake feed every year, and it's a big success. Of course, it's said they taste like chicken. |

So I never go near that lake. I grew up ten minutes from Katepwa and never saw a rattler. Just lucky I guess! |

Sweet Mother of Jesus!!!!! In southern Arizona, those suckers grow that big. When I was growing up, my mom, brother and I would go out drives because supposedly my brother was practicing so he could pass his driver's exam. Anyway, in the winter rattlesnakes that big would lie across the road warming themselves. It would freak me out, but then my brother would haul ass trying to run over them...yeah we were weird. (I still am) One of our neighbors would bring occasionally bring a dead snake home. The rattles on those are huge. His wife would fry them up like chicken...like Cuff say the flavor is similar to chicken.
