Just thought I'd share.

I've moved this to off-topic and changed the thread title to reflect what the article is actually about. Wouldn't want anyone to think you were trying to scare people who plan to visit Playa del Carmen.

I don't know. I was only interested cuz I plan on going in October and if it is going to be a bad season I'd like to have that info. May have to change my plans. I went last time between wilma and katrina. Right between. Had great weather but the following week devastated them. A buddy had his rezervations cancelled by the hotel.

Sorry. I was going to put it in news but then saw only staff can do that.

Frankly, I wouldn't go in October...for a few reasons, one- it isn't cold enough here yet to warrant a 'hot holiday escape' ...two, we only get enough vacation time a year to go on two 2-week vacations, and I would rather get away in Jan-March...and 3- it's hurricane season! Why the heck would I go to a hurricane-prone area during hurricane season? I never buy cancellation insurance, and I would have to start.

I loved it in October for those reasons exactly.

Besides, I don't have enough carbon credits to fly any more than once a year.

STATE COLLEGE, PA, May 15, 2006-The AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center, led by Chief Forecaster Joe Bastardi, today released its 2006 hurricane season forecast. An active hurricane season appears imminent, which could have major repercussions for the U.S. economy and the one in six Americans who live on the Eastern Seaboard or along the western Gulf of Mexico.

Do you know that Playa del Carmen is NOT located in the Gulf of Mexico? We're on the Caribbean. What hits the Gulf doesn't necessarily hit us here. Katrina (???) didn't come close to us.

They sure nailed that one. And, we are supposed to believe their 100 year forecasts?
