Friday Dec 28 2007 was my dad's 75th Birthday. My brother's and sisters all met at a restaraunt where we grew up in Virginia (my sisters still live there) and threw him a surprise party. Only one of our brothers couldn't make it.
Here are a few pics. Sorry they are grainy...we used my wife's new camera and the settings were off

The restaraunt owner sat my dad and my sister in athe main room of the place while we all gathered in the party room. When it came time to move them over to the party room, The owner was trying to find a way to get him there with out tipping the surprise. He told dad he had to come see the Sinatra room. Dad said " I don't even LIKE Sinatra!"

Was rather dark outside for the NYE fireworks:

That fog was from the fireworks... they started to fire hours ago and by 11 it was already foggy. But I have never seen it that BLACK outside on a NYE. Was a little bit spooky. Couldn't take many pics outside as I am at the heigth the fireworks are exploding so I always need to have one eye on the camera and the other one around me....

Yesterday I was planning on heading to Rocky Mountain National Park for a snowshoe hike, but we received an unexpected snowstorm last night. Would have turned a 2 1/2 hour drive into much longer, so opted for a hike locally.

Beautiful day, temp about 30 F (-1 C), with lots of sunshine.

Thought of Playa while fixing my lunch. Not quite the same vibe as sitting at Java Joe's or Babe's (eating their Pad Thai), but the imagery was indeed there!

Tried out these snowshoes from the outfitter where I work. I liked 'em.
